-Kaydan's P.O.V-
Christian releases my hands and places his on his knees panting. "Start over. I messed up."
I loved seeing him getting so worked up over this.
I walk over to my phone and pause the song. I had 6 missed texts from Kaleb, 8 from Kyle, and two calls from each of my parents."Christian, we've been at this for 30 minutes," I open my phone and send a family text.
I'll see you in a second. Hang on.
"Last time," he breathes.
I grin. "Go take a shower! You are sweaty!" "But-"
"Christian! We'll try again tomorrow!"
He groans audibly, but does as I say. I wait for him to walk up the stairs and enter his bathroom. Once the water starts I head for the kitchen.
He's obviously forgotten about my parents being here...which might be a good thing?
I open the fridge and grab honey Greek yogurt. I slap it onto the counter and close the fridge, then I reach for the cabinet and grab my favorite bowl. It had blue fish on the side, and the ocean stopped at a cactus.
What? It's contemporary...I think.
Once I finish slopping the yogurt into my bowl I put it back in the fridge, trading it out for a fruit cup. I then grab a cup from the sink and transfer the juice into it, then top my yogurt with the fruit. Perfect. I get a spoon from the drawer and sit at the counter, beginning to eat my yogurt. Since I'm in a rush, I finish it in 5 minutes, place my bowl in the sink, and leave once I fill it with water.
I step to the left, stop at my door, then knock twice.
"Who ever could that be?" I hear a voice boom.
Lucas clearly fucked something up.
The door opens, and he is staring down at me. "Why, hello there!"
I narrow my eyes at him. "...What the hell did you do?"
"Come in, come in!" He grabs my arm and shuts the door behind me.
My mom locks eyes with me and rushes in for a hug. "Kaydan!" She exclaims squeezing me tightly. "Dove sei stato (Where have you been)? Alles Gute zum Geburtstag (Happy Birthday)! Ti amo! Aš tave myliu! Ich liebe dich! Je t'aime! (I love you! 4x's)" She fires off.
"Mother, mother!" I struggle. "English at me! You know I don't know what you're saying!"
My father walks up to me laughing. "'Where have you been?' 'Happy birthday!' 'I love you...I love you...I love you'...Oh, 'I love you!'" He looks at his wife. "How was that?"
"Magnifique!" My mom continues in her foreign tongue.
I roll my eyes and hug her back, hoping that would cause her to release me. It does...in about 8 more seconds.
When she lets go she holds my shoulders. "What are you wearing?"
My mom was the parent that would curse you in English and love you in any other language offered, instead of the normal ones who do the opposite.
"Something comfortable?" I shrug.
"That won't do!" She releases me, finally, and rushes to a bag behind the door. "Lucky for you, I brought you a birthday gift!" She holds out a royal blue button up and a 3 piece suit with a bow tie.
"Mom!" I yell.
"Go try it on!"
"It's not going to fit," I complain.
"Stop arguing, and do what your mother tells you," my dad fights me.
I make sure not to snatch it from her, but I take it with resistance. "I'm taking it off when I'm done."
"That's fine!"
I pass Luke on my way and he's looking down at the ground in front of him. I glance at Kyle who's beside him. I was barely able to tell he was patting his back.
Guessing that didn't go well...
I look to my right. Kaleb is standing by Jonathan's side with barely any distance between them. Jonathan is smirking, while Kaleb is glaring holes into the side of his head.
Okay...so where's- Found him.
I look in the far corner of my apartment. Jasper is sitting in the corner with his arms hugging his knees to his body. I side step over to him. The aura around him almost makes me
run. "Y-You alright?"
"I want his blood," he whispers. "...O-Okay, well-"
"In my mouth, and on my children."
I nod slowly and walk away from him. Guessing that also failed. Alright!
I enter my bathroom and close the door behind me. My pocket vibrates and I free my phone reading the text from Christian.
Like You, Like You: Where did you go?
I turn away from my screen and place my hand on my face.
I seriously need to change that!
I glance back down at it and reply:
Home. Come over.
I place my phone on the sink and take of my shirt. After I throw it on the floor, I put on the button up and place the vest on top of it.
"And you are?" My mother's voice questions, stopping my actions.
-Christian's P.O.V-
I slip my phone into my pocket after reading Kaydan's text and head downstairs. I peek into the sink and see a bowl filled with water. I jog over to it and smile.
At lease he has something on his stomach...Is it too late to go out to eat? Maybe I can attempt to make him something.
I turn on the sink and grab my green and black sponge, then put a drop of rain scented soap in the center. I scrub the inside of the bowl in the right side of the sink and place in the left when I'm done, and do the same for the spoon. I notice there is a small cup of juice next to the sink. I pick it up and take a small sip. After knowing what it is I down the rest of it.
I still refuse to believe he doesn't like the fruit juice.
I finish up by washing the cup, rinsing all of the soap off of the dishes, then place them into the dishwasher. I head over to my door and lock it after it's closed behind me. I walk up to Kaydan's and knock twice saying, "I'm coming in." I open the door and am greeted by a tiny woman with long light hair, and green eyes.
She stares up at me with her arms folded across her chest. "And you are?"
"Christian," I answer looking away from her. I see Kyle, Lucas, Jonathan, Jasper, and Kaleb, but no Kaydan. "Do you know where Kaydan is?" I try to step around her, but am blocked by a taller man with darker hair and lighter brown eyes.
"How do you know our son?"
I narrow my eyes at him. "Your son?" I ask confused. I look them over for the second time, but quickly. Not really caring about anything or anyone else I question, "Who are you?" My irritation gets the better of me.
"Hi Christian!" Kaydan shouts, slamming his bathroom door open. He was wearing a really nice button up and an open vest...without pants.
"Kaydan," I say dryly as he approaches me.
He grabs my face and plants a kiss on my lips. "Yes?" He grins pulling back.
I forget what I was going to say.
"Excuse me young man," the woman draws attention back to herself. "Who is that?"
"My boyfriend Christian," he answers simply. He turns back to me. "By the way, that's my mother, and I'm guessing you can tell the other one is my father."
My eyes widen.
"Gunna be honest," he whispers in my ear, "Your first impression...not great."
I look over to his parents. "I-I-I'm sorry. I-I forgot."
"That would explain why you're dressed like that," his mother combats.
I glance at my attire. I had a maroon t-shirt on, with gray basketball shorts.
Kaydan faces his parents. "I like it," he fights.
"I-I don't!" Kyle joins the conversation from the back.
"Don't act immaturely because Luke probably did something stupid!" Kaydan shouts.
"I think-" Kaleb tries, but is stopped shortly by Jonathan. Kaleb's mouth falls open, but is quickly shut and he stares at the ground. causing a slight growl to erupt from Jasper.
"Did they tell you who those guys are?" Kaydan asks his parents.
"Good friends I think," his father answers.
"...Right. Well, if you guys don't have any questions for-"
"Where are you from?" His mother starts, cutting him off and staring dead at me.
"Whipup, Utah," I answer, the shock slowly wearing off.
"Your family consists of-" his father joins. "My mother, father, sister and me."
They began alternating questions.
"You have a job?" His mother continues. "No, but I'm planning to get one when I can." "How long have you been dating our son?
"A while."
"Are you intimidated by us?" "I couldn't pretend not to be."
His dad releases a single laugh, and I see his mother crack the smallest smile I've ever seen in my life.
"Good answer," she says closing her eyes. She smiles widely at Kaydan. "I like him better than Maddie."
"Oh God!" Everyone in the Green family groans at the same time, including Jonathan.
I look at Lucas and he seems just as clueless as I am. "Who's Maddie?" I ask looking at Kaydan.
He rubs his eye with the palm of his hand. "No one."
"His first girlfriend," Kyle answers.
"She was actually the worst," his father adds.
"Kaydan was pretty whipped though," his mother laughs.
Everyone agrees with the statement making Kaydan's face grow more red. "Can we stop now? I'm sure he gets the point."
There is a knock at the door, and Kaydan quickly, and happily, volunteers to get it.
My dad runs over to me with a suit on a hanger. He stares at Kaydan's parents. "...I'm too late, aren't I?"
"Oh, this is perfect!" Kaydan exclaims. "We can match now!...Probably not color wise, but we can both look nice!"
"See," my dad continues, "if Kaydan wants to, you should to."
"Yeah, but-"
"Kenneth?" A voice from the back calls.
Jonathan makes his way over to us with a slightly puzzled expression.
My father's expression falls. He looks everywhere but at him. He finally decides to focus on me. "H-Here," he rests the suit across my shoulder. "I need to go take a walk," he finishes turning towards the door before calmly walking out of it. He shuts is behind him, and silence fills the room.
Jonathan runs his hands through his hair and faces Kaleb, then he looks over to Kaydan's parents. "I think I'm going for a walk too," he steps over to the door and runs out of it, and it slides slowly across the floor until it's shut.
Jasper is immediately on his feet and he trudges over to Kaleb's side. "Thank god," I hear him mutter under his breath.
"...So far so good," Kaydan's mother picks back up locking eyes with me. "I don't hate you..." she cocks her head to the side. "So what's wrong with you?"
"What do you mean?" I ask unsure.
"Criminal record, weird fetish or kink...you know. What's wrong?"
I search my head for anything, but draw blanks. I hug my neck with my shoulders.
"How old are you anyway?" His father questions readjusting the glasses on his face.
I look the the ground and rub the back of my neck. "I-I...w-well-"
"Mother," Kaydan steps in on the conversation. "Father...Christian is-"
"Twenty-one," I finish for him squeezing my eyes shut.
