-Kaydan's P.O.V-
First Addison molests my crotch. Granted it was totally accidental due to the fact that she had obviously intended it to be for someone else...but nevertheless, it was still my crotch. Then Luke walks in here, and punches me in the face. Great. This is seriously wonderful. The only question I have now is should I find salt or lemon to put into my eyes? It would be the cherry on top of this molest me in the crotch and spit on my neck cake. Really. It would.
There were eyes on us from every direction. Parents were shielding their children's eyes, and couples' mouths were dropped. There was also a low murmur sweeping across the tables.
"Did you see that?" A man in the back whispered.
"I wounder what happened," another chimes in.
...It's only a matter of time until-
"You can't do that here!" An angry voice yells in the distance. A large man makes his way over to us from a room in the back.
That happens.
I turn my attention to it a notice the manager rapidly approaching the scene. Christian had finished spitting blood onto the plate of fettuccine that was brought out to us, and was about to charge Luke when this man stopped beside them.
"No fighting is allowed inside this building!" He continues. "Get out!"
"Let's take this outside," Christian speaks, clearly annoyed.
Luke barely scoffs replying, "I don't care where the hell you go. I'm here for him," he finishes pointing at me. "Kaydan, may I please speak to you?"
I look at the table and lock eyes with Addison.
I guess she's gunna pay the bill then.
I return my attention to Luke and walk towards him, passing him up as I reach the door. I push it open and keep walking down the sidewalk to make sure we were a decent enough space away from the restaurant. I hear their footsteps following behind me and turn on my heel, putting my fists up near my face.
Luke stops and holds his palms up in defense. "Whoa, whoa! Take it easy!" He exclaims.
"How the hell am I suppose to take it easy? You punched me in the face!" I respond.
"Don't you think I have a reason?" He breaths. "Also," he turns to Christian, "My bad. I knew if I punched Kaydan you would've killed me, and the only chance I had to stop you was by punching you back."
Christian glares at him in silence.
Luke smiles nervously. "Right...anyway," he looks back at me, "I'll apologize once you apologize to your brother."
I narrow my eyes at him. "You punched me...because of Kyle?" I question slightly confused.
"Yes."
I take a quick at Kyle, who his staring at the ground, before looking back at Luke. "...Why?"
He sighs deeply.
"Do you not remember what happen-"
"I am very aware of what happened!" He cuts me off. "I am also aware that you made him feel like shit and-"
"He made Christian feel like shit!" I yell back.
"He just didn't know how to handle the situation!"
"He could've easily handled it by staying the fuck out of my-"
"I'm sorry!" Kyle shouts over both of us. We all look at him, and it's dead quiet.
-Christian's P.O.V-
"I...I know that I really fucked up, and I get that I went overboard with the insults. I just didn't want you to get any closer to Kaydan than I was," he finishes looking me in the eye.
I scratch the back of my head.
What's happening?...Why the hell is Kyle apologizing to me? Did he do something wrong? Did I do something wrong?...I mean...He could be apologizing...for...
I sigh underneath my breath.
I honestly just wanted to beat the living hell out of Lucas. He's the one I'm mad at right now. If anyone owes me an apology it's him. If it's Kyle...It has to be because of...
I glance past him and sneak a peek
at Kaydan. He's giving me a look of compassion.
Shit...what' does that mean? That's not helpful...
I open my mouth to say words, but Kyle continues with, "I know that it doesn't make much sense, and I don't blame you if you don't want to forgive me. I've just been a complete ass to you," he nervously laughs at himself.
I close my mouth and stuff my hands in my pockets.
Um...
I look at Kaydan one last time. He's staring at Kyle while biting his lip. I exhale deeply and take a few steps over to Kyle. I stop directly in front of him. When he looks up at me I wrap one of my arms around his neck and pull him into a hug.
Is...is this...okay?
After an hour of awkward silence passes he reaches up with both of his hands and hugs me back. "Thank you."
I pat his back once, and then a second time because he didn't let go. I finally look over at Lucas and see him grinning from ear to ear.
Oh right. That douche bag punched me. When Kyle lets go, I'm going to-
"Hey guys," Kaydan calls making Kyle release me. "...It's late. We should all head back to my place."
In the corner of my eye I see Kyle perk up as Lucas moves closer to us. Kaydan walks past me, and Kyle happily follows him.
I take this opportunity to pull Lucas to the side. "I think I owe you a punch to the face,"
I growl.
"I already told you I punched you out of self- defense, didn't I?" He states. "Besides, you punched me first."
"That's only because-"
"I punched Kaydan," he interrupts me. "I know. I said all of this earlier. You really need to pay attention when other people talk."
"Shut up," was all I could manage to say.
He laughs at me. "Nice one."
"Hey," a voice yells at us just as we pass the restaurant, "You need to pay the tab!"
"Addison paid it already," Kaydan shouts back.
"If you are speaking about the lady, she left with the rest of you," our previous waiter replies.
"You're kidding me, right?"
"No sir."
"Goddamn it, Addison! I thought you would at least cover this!" He groans.
"I got it," I chime in pulling out my wallet. "I was going to pay for it anyway."
"What a true gentleman!" Lucas exclaims.
I pay the man and get shooed off one last time before entering the car with Kaydan. We got here earlier in the afternoon, so we were able to get a good spot. That and this place wasn't the most popular on the list. Kyle was sitting in the front of Lucas' car as I hop in my driver's seat and notice the look he shares with Kyle as he enters his car.
This almost makes sense.
I put my car in reverse once Lucas turns his on, and head for Kaydan's apartment. When I glance at him in the corner of my eye, it's plain to see that he's sulking.
"What?" I ask making a right.
"I can't believe Addison just left!" He murmurs.
"She probably didn't want to get involved." "By paying the bill?"
"There was a scuffle."
He snorts. "Whatever."
"How's your cheek by the way?"
"A lot better than yours," he tries to laugh. "It's already swelling." He reaches over and touches it.
I inwardly flinch and take his hand in mine, bringing it to my mouth. I kiss his palm and feel his body jolt.
"Stop! I want to be mad!" He tries to pull his hand away.
"Don't be," I finish interlocking our fingers, "You look better happy."
"I still don't understand why Lucas had to punch me because of Kyle!" He sighs as he stops trying to move.
"You can ask him when we get there," I rub his hand with my thumb as the light turns from red to green.
"...Thank you."
"For..."
"Forgiving Kyle. I know he can be a handful...hell he could've convinced Gandhi to kick his ass! Just...thanks for giving him a second chance," he smiles.
I return it before confessing, "To be honest, I don't even remember what he did."
"Are you serious?"
"I know he made you yell at him, just not what you yelled at him for. If I was mad at him, it was only because you were. You fuel most, if not, all of my emotions you know."
"Thank you anyway!"
"Now you just need to forgive him, right?" "...I guess..."
Once we pass a few more traffic lights I park in the very back closest to the doors. Lucas steals a park beside me, and we all travel inside.
After we reach Kaydan's door, he turns around and stops me and Lucas. "Could you leave us alone for a while?"
I furrow my brow and Lucas clicks his tongue.
"I need to talk to Kyle. One on one."
"...For how long?" Lucas and I ask in sync.
Kaydan shows a nervous smile. "The rest of the night..."
I hold my breath and nod, trying my best to seem compliant. Lucas allows his eyes to linger on Kyle a second longer before I grab his arm and yank him over to my door. I unlock it and drag him inside. I stop short noticing everything is clean.
Where the hell is Addison?
I pull out my phone and shoot her a text.
Where are you?
When I put it away I see Lucas made his way over to the bar stool and slumped over in it. "What's wrong with you?"
"I don't want to be here," he answers instantly sitting down.
"Is that cause Kyle's not?"
He plants his head in the center of his arms.
"What's the deal with you guys? Do you like him?"
It's quiet for a long time before he pops his head up and props it on his hand. "...I could..."
