"Andrea?" Remus calls after our class ends two weeks later. I stay behind and wait. "I feel I must apologize."

"For what?" I ask in confusion.

"I called you Mary." He says and I nod. "You are not your mother. You certain have her creativity and lack of care for magic's rules, but you are so much more."

"Well it takes two to make a human." I say and he chuckles. "Harry and I are a lot alike, you know. We were orphaned and then given to our aunt and uncle's where they had to find room for us; we're constantly compared to our parents without fail. The difference is that Harry's aunt, uncle, and cousin are the human version of dementors and mine are amazing and welcoming and Harry is compared to his parents by his looks and I'm compared to my mother because of my inventions."

"I suppose you two are a lot alike."

"Although he's not like Aunt Lily and Uncle James at all at the same time. Does he know you knew him as a baby?"

"No. No, I haven't approached him." Remus says and I flinch.

"You probably should soon."

"And what makes you say that while making that face?"

"Harry knows he and I knew each other as kids and that you used to babysit me on occasion before shit hit the fan and sucked at it. He's smart enough that he'll put two and two together."

"I did not suck at it."

"Remus." I say in a 'come on' voice.

"Okay, so I wasn't the best."

"You don't say." I say sarcastically.

"I also wanted to give you this." Remus says, handing me a letter. "I am registered, so it will help. It's my review of your bracelet. Professors McGonagall, Sprout, Flitwick, and Dumbledore have also put in what they witnessed. Have you applied for the job yet?"

"No." I barely get out, looking at the letter like it's pure gold.

"You should. You would be an amazing Unspeakable." Remus says. He crouches so he can look me in the eyes. "And are going to change the lives of thousands from all over."

"Thank you, Remmy." I whisper.

"Now get out of here. Go apply for your dream job." Remus says, standing up. We both turn towards the door to see a load of third years standing there.

"What happened to waiting until the door was opened, you twerps?" I snap at them venomously, a complete 180 from how I was a second ago.

"You'll never be an Unspeakable." Malfoy says. I raise an eyebrow at him and smirk. "I'll see to that."

"You mean you're father is going to hear about this and you'll expect him to pay someone off to keep me from getting a job I deserve and have worked towards since before you were in your double digits?" I challenge.

"Andrea!" Remus snaps not unkindly. I take a deep breath and start towards the door, the third years now making way for me; some patted my back and others complimented me on my telling off Malfoy.

After I leave Remus' classroom I immediately write to the ministry to apply for the Unspeakable position, sending in the letter from Remus with it.

On Halloween I am fully prepared to go to Hogsmeade with my friends, stocking up on parchment, journals, ink, quills, and pencils.

"Sometimes I worry about your life choices, Andy." Jacob says, gently pulling at my leather jacket. I look fine-no matter what he says-in jeans, a floral top, dark purple bootie heels, and the tan leather jacket Siri gave to my mother when they were thirteen.
