⚠️ Trigger Warning: a suicide attempt is mentioned briefly in this chapter. ⚠️
In July Charlie, Percy, the twins, and I all await the rest of the Weasleys save Bill to arrive at Hogwarts for Charlie's graduation; Ron and Ginny are unable to enter the castle due to not being eleven yet and they want to preserve the magical surprise.
"Hey, Gin." I say, hugging her as my aunt, uncle, and cousins arrive.
"Are you excited?" Ginny asks Charlie.
"Excited? I get to start my mastery for Care of Magical Creatures and I don't have to monitor these trouble makers anymore."
"Yes, thank you for that, brother." Percy says, making me chuckle.
"It's almost as if you don't love us or something." George asks in a teasing voice. I wrap an arm around each of them.
"Oh! Are we going to have time for you to meet Andy's boyfriend while you're here?" Fred asks. I swiftly lightly push the boys forward and let them go, making them fall, in retaliation.
"You have a boyfriend?" Arthur asks.
"It's okay, dad. He's a good guy." Charlie says.
"He dorms with me. He's very decent if not a little too Quidditch obsessed."
"Too Quidditch obsessed? He and Andrea are the best Keepers in the school!" Charlie says.
"Not when they're playing against each other. Then Wood forgets what he's supposed to be doing." George complains, back on his feet.
"If you could all take your seats, the ceremony is about to begin!" McGonagall calls out. I follow my aunt and uncle to our seats, Ginny's hand in mine.
The graduation ceremony is long and boring and nearly puts me to sleep. The entertaining part is the end though.
"Seven years, people, and knowledge can change a person. One of our traditions is for the graduating class to replace the hat on their heads and see where they would be sorted now." Dumbledore says.
"That's how you get sorted?" Ron asks.
"No. You have to fight a troll. Why do you think Charlie did so well, what with his love of magical creatures?" Fred asks. I roll my eyes but don't correct him; it's kind of funny and it fits. I look at Ginny and she looks scared. I make sure Ron's not looking before shaking my head at her and nodding towards the stage. She relaxes at that. I put my finger to my lips and look at Ron and she nods her understanding.
"Didn't Bill end up in a different house?" Ron asks. Molly and Arthur thought he and Ginny were too young to go to Bill's graduation so those two stayed with the Lovegoods.
"Yep." I confirm.
"But he's a Curse Breaker. That takes bravery."
"And a shit ton of knowledge and will to continue learning harder magic after graduation." I say before shushing him.
"Weasley, Charles." McGonagall calls. Charlie sits on the chair used instead of the stool, all the graduates too big for the stool now.
"GRYFFINDOR!" The hat announces. I smile as I applaud, not surprised in the least. McGonagall hands Charlie his class ring and diploma and then sends him on his way.
"Let me see!" Ginny says to Charlie once everyone is freed. He chuckles as he shows Ginny his class ring that has a ruby in the middle with a visible lion carved and outlined in gold on it and a lion on the band on either side of the ruby. "But Bill was a Ravenclaw?"
"Red stone, raven outlined in bronze, raven on one side and lion on the other." I tell her. "Whatever house you get is put on your house color outlined in the second house's secondary color, and your secondary house on the other side of the band."
"So when you get told you're a Ravenclaw?" George asks.
"Yellow stone with a bronze raven, badger on one side and raven on the other."
In the beginning of the summer Charlie gathers all the boys into his room, leaving Ginny out.
"Come on, Ginny. I'll teach you the really cool moves I wasn't going to show any of your brothers." I say, cheering her up.
Thirty minutes later the boys all come to join Ginny and I. As soon as we see them coming she and I share a look, going back into easy mode.
"Are you going to be okay, Andrea?" Charlie asks that night as he and I put away the chickens before dinner.
"I'll be fine. I'm in a much better spot than I was two years ago." I say, trying to force the door closed. Charlie gives it one last shove and I lock it. "I never thanked you for that."
"You don't have to thank me for loving you, Andrea." He says, running his hands through his hair. "You started to rely on me more after the incident though."
"I had." I confirm with a nod. "I can't rely on an older brother figure my whole life."
"You're fourteen though and should be allowed that crutch." He says.
"You obviously haven't seen the twins against Oliver." I say and he chuckles.
"No, I saw it. It was brilliant."
"I'm glad my boyfriend's pain amuses you."
"Hey, at least mom and dad didn't meet him today."
"Thank Merlin! That was not the time or place." I say.
"You could do a lot worse, Andy."
"Yeah, I mean, Talia's dating his best friend."
"That Sanderson twat Percy's always complaining about?"
"That's the one, and Percy's not wrong for once. I love Oliver, but his best friend is an annoying bitch." I say and Charlie chuckles. "When do you leave?"
"Next week. Romania."
"You will be an amazing dragon tamer." I say.
"Thanks, Andrea."
