I slam my pencil down and glare at Jacob who is sitting across from me. It's now the end of May and NEWTs are quickly approaching. Most of the school is quietly getting ready for exams but there are always some that seem to think that the exams that can make or break someone's life mean nothing and will happily make things harder.

"Andrea, don't do it. It's not worth it." He warns.

"NEWTS are in two weeks, Jacob." I say in a quiet voice.

"I know-"

"I may have the job but I can lose it as quickly as I got it if I don't pass these."

"I know-"

"This fucking third year is about to find out just how stressful NEWTs can be. The hard way." I growl.

"At least Brooks and Nikki aren't around to take points or give detention." He says defeatedly. I get up and storm up to the third years.

"OI! FUCK FACE! I don't know if you have noticed the last two Mays you've been here but we shut the fuck up at the end of May so the fifth and seventh years can study in peace without idiotic children getting in their way!"

"You know there's a library right? You all could just go there. I don't see why we have to accommodate for you lot." One of them says. His friends pull him back as I go to attack him-I have arms wrapped around me before I can.

"You'll understand when you're fifth years, but this is a very stressful times as the NEWTs and OWLs draw closer. Just keep it down so those of us who are bad with stress, and are overworking themselves-which gives them even more stress, can study." Cedirc says. I elbow him for his statement about my study habits but he holds firm. The third year just rolls his eyes.

"You don't rule the common room." He says.

"It's called consideration!" A fifth year yells.

"Do we want to know why Andy is behind held back by Cedric?" Nikki asks.

"Third years being pretentious, self-absorbed twats. They now have every fifth and seventh year against them." Talia says from her spot next to a fifth year she was helping. The third years blush and nod their heads.

"I won't stop her next time." Cedirc says, letting me go. I huff and straighten my clothes, glaring at the kids, before returning to my studying.

"It's a good thing we weren't here, isn't it?" Brooks asks.

"Oh yeah!" Jacob says. I smack him upside the head as I pass to get to my seat.
