A week flew in before anyone could prepare it was time for the UA Sports Festival!
Your classmates woke up feeling excitement as they got ready for the day.
The long debate about whether or not you were going to be allowed to participate due to your healing injuries' finally came to a conclusion.
You passed.
You never seen All Might angry before, but sitting inside the hospital he made it crystal clear he would not support you if you competed in the festival. Unlike your new friends who got pats on the shoulder and wished good luck while their folks prepares hot breakfasts for them, you got nothing.
Two bowls of cold cereal and a cup of hot tea and you were out the door.
So now here you sit, inside a waiting room for your class to finish collecting so you all could be called to enter the arena. You leaned back in your chair munching on a bag of salty chips with a steaming cup in your hand.
"(y/n)-!" Mina's voice startled you, you quickly leaned forward not to slip any tea down your chin and onto your shirt. "-there you are! I was scared you weren't going to be here!"
"What do you mean?" You wondered, Bakugo entered the room just then with Kirishima tailing behind him.
"We might have gone to the wrong waiting room-!" Mina laughed, rubbing her neck. "-when I didn't see you there Midoriya explained you might not be allowed to compete!?"
"Uh-" You shot an annoyed look to Midoriya with his big mouth, "-yeah that was a possibility."
"Are you sure you should be doing this?" Midoriya worriedly asked.
"I was cleared." You shrugged.
"Really!?" Mina gasped,
"Your doc cleared you to fight?" Asui pulled up a chair beside.
"Yeah." You nodded, Bakugo sat a table away. He watched you from the corner of his eye. Your leg was bleeding only a few days ago...you could barely walk, Bakugo was surprised you passed and was allowed in.
"I wonder what they have in store for us in the first round." Rikido Sato nervously played with his hands. You referred to him as sugar boy, since his quirk is activated by eating sugar.
"No matter what they've prepared we must persevere." Tokoyami called who spoke more like a fortune cookie each day.
"I am so bummed we can't wear our hero costumes!" Mina whined, "I wanted to look so cute today!"
"I guess it does make it fair among everyone." Sero yawned.
"Speaking of costumes-" Asui commented, "-(y/n) do you have a hero costume?"
"Not yet." You answered,
"What!?"
"I haven't turned in the packet."
"Why!?" Ochaco leaned forward, "It is so cool to get your costume! When I got mine-!" Ochaco rambled on, you sipped your tea watching her talk with her brightly smile.
Why haven't you completed your packet for your hero costume? Maybe it was because you didn't really feel like you could become a hero, so why would you need a costume to play dress up in?
"If you need help with it-" Mina warmly smiled, "-I can help."
"Really?" You turned.
"Of course!"
"That...would be great actually."
"I cannot wait, I have so many ideas for your costume!" Mina gushed.
