Chapter 4

Recap: Priyanka manipulates Vikram to act against Sahana

Vikram's anger was at its peak when he heard that Sahana was about to leave the country. In a fit of rage, he started breaking things in his room. Clenching his fists, he punched the wall, causing his knuckles to bleed. Without a second thought, he rushed to the hospital where Sahana was admitted.

At the Hospital

Sahana slowly opened her eyes, feeling a sharp pain in her head. As she struggled to sit up, Rakshat quickly came to her aid. She felt extremely weak and exhausted, and seeing her in such a fragile state pained him deeply.

Rakshat: "Sahana, how do you feel?"

Sahana: "Hmm... I feel better, Rakshat. Stop worrying now."

Rakshat: "Do you want to tell me what happened? I've been waiting to hear from you, though I already know some of it."

Sahana: "I'm sorry. I dragged you into my mess, and because of me, you haven't been able to live your own life."

Rakshat: "Please stop, Sahana. Would you just listen to me for once? We are leaving the country tonight. I don't see another way out of this. The doctor told me you are too weak to take care of yourself. At least do it for the sake of the baby."

Sahana: "Do you really think leaving the country will solve the problem?"

Rakshat: "I know it won't solve everything, but right now, your health is my priority. Just trust me. I've made all the arrangements, and we're not returning until you deliver the baby."

Sahana: "I don't know what's going to happen... but right now, I'm starving."

Rakshat: "I knew you would be. Look, I brought your favorite food."

He opened the box and took a spoonful of mushroom pasta to feed her. But Sahana didn't feel the usual delight in her favorite meal. The bitterness of her life had overshadowed everything. Still, she knew she had to eat for her baby's sake. As Rakshat fed her, a sudden clapping sound echoed from the entrance.

Both turned in shock to see Vikram standing there, his bloodshot eyes burning with fury.

Vikram: "Wow! What a scene! Looks like you both have finally found time for each other."

Rakshat: "Vikram, mind your words. You better get out of here."

Sahana: "Rakshat, please calm down. I don't want a scene here at the hospital."

Vikram: "That's wonderful, my dear wifey! You seem so concerned for your boyfriend!"

Rakshat: "Get out, Mr. Vikram! You have no business here. It's better if you stay out of her life."

Vikram: "And who are you to tell me that? I came here to see my dear wife! What's bothering you?"

Rakshat: "Wife? Do you even mean that word, Vikram? Sahana, it's because of you and your silence that he has turned into a monster."

Vikram: "Mind your words, Mr. Whomsoever! This is between me and my wife. Get out!"

Sahana: "Rakshat, please... I've made you suffer enough. I don't want you getting into trouble because of me. Just leave."

Rakshat: "I can't leave you here alone! What if he hurts you again?"

Sahana: "Nothing will happen to me, Rakshat. Please, just go."

Rakshat: "Fine... but I'll be back soon to check on you."

As Rakshat hesitated before leaving, Vikram's eyes followed him with pure hatred.

Vikram: "So, my dear wife looks very happy in his embrace."

Sahana: "Stop it, Vikram! Don't spew such venomous words. He's my friend, and he was only taking care of me."

Vikram: "Friend? Oh yeah? Then why don't you just sign the divorce papers and be done with it?! If money is what's stopping you, I can give you as much as you want. Just sign the damn papers!"

Sahana: "Sorry, Vikram. I will not."

Enraged, Vikram grabbed her chin with one hand and her neck with the other, making her gasp for air. She struggled, suffocating, until he finally let go with a look of pure disgust.

Vikram: "What do you even think of me? Am I a joke to you?"

Sahana: "Vikram, please calm down and just listen to me for once. We are going to have a baby soon! For the sake of our child, please listen to me."

Vikram's rage intensified. His hands trembled as he clutched her hair, making her wince in pain. Tears streamed down her face as she pleaded for him to stop.

Vikram: "How dare you?! Am I a fool to take responsibility for your sin?!"

Sahana: "What do you mean, Vikram?!"

Vikram: "I mean exactly what you think. Don't act naive and try to pin your mistake on me. Don't you dare call that child mine! I will kill you before I accept this betrayal!"

That was the final straw for Sahana. With all her might, she reached to slap him, but Vikram caught her wrist harshly and pushed her away.

Just as she was about to fall, Priyanka caught her.

Priyanka: "Vikram! Why are you behaving so cruelly? Can't you see her condition?!"

Vikram: "Priya? Why are you here?"

Priyanka: "I came here to see her. Now, please leave."

Vikram: "No. I'm not leaving you alone with her. Let's go together."

Vikram stormed out, with Priyanka following closely behind. Sahana noticed the smirk on Priyanka's face. That wicked smirk that confirmed everything, Priyanka had succeeded in poisoning Vikram's mind completely.

All the pain, the struggles, the humiliation, everything Sahana endured felt like it was for nothing. Every time Vikram hurled those hateful words at her, a part of her soul shattered. For so long, she had held onto the hope that he would change, if not for her, at least for their child. But now, all hope had died.

Her dignity was all she had left.

And now, she knew what she had to do.
