Chapter 5

Recap: Vikram leaves with Priyanka from the hospital.

Vikram and Priyanka walked out of the hospital, and Priyanka noticed Vikram's mood had turned sour. She had already made up her mind to use the situation to her advantage.

"Priyanka, get in the car. I'll drop you home on the way," Vikram said, his voice void of emotion.

"Vikram, I don't want to leave you alone now. Let me accompany you for tonight," Priyanka insisted.

"That's okay, baby. Stop worrying. I'll be fine." Vikram nonchalantly.

"That wasn't a question, Vikram. Until today, I have asked for nothing from you. I want to stay, so please don't stop me." 

Vikram sighed. "Okay, fine. Let's leave now."

They arrived at Vikram's mansion, and Priyanka felt her first taste of victory as she stepped inside. He led her to the room adjacent to his and instructed her to stay there.

"Vikram, I want to stay with you," she protested, disappointed.

"Until we are married, you will stay in this room," he stated firmly.

Just then, he received a call. "Get some rest. I need to step out for urgent work at the office."

At the Hospital

Rakshat returned to find Sahana sitting alone, her face pale and her expression distant. He could guess what had happened and chose not to question her.

"Rakshat, I'm sorry. I didn't want to embarrass or trouble you," she muttered.

"That's okay. I understand, Sahana. Don't bother about it. Just tell me what have you decided? Things can't go on like this forever." Rakshat worried about her.

"I will give him the freedom he wanted." Sahana muttered in meeky voice.

Rakshat exhaled in relief. "Good for you. Let's leave, then. I've completed the discharge formalities. We are flying out tonight."

"No, Rakshat. I have to go to Vikram's mansion to get my papers and some important documents." Sahana said determined to get things done on her own.

"I'm not letting you meet that monster alone. I'll drop you, and once you get your things, we'll leave." Rakshat stood his ground.

"No, Rakshat, I will go on my own. Now that I have made my decision, he won't trouble me." Sahana said and Rakshat side-hugged Sahana, trying to comfort her. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she quickly composed herself. Later, they left the hospital, and Sahana headed toward Vikram's mansion.

At Vikram's Mansion

Priyanka was ecstatic. She finally had a foothold in Vikram's house and soon, in his life. Unable to contain her excitement, she called her boss, unaware that the queen had already arrived.

Sahana stepped into the mansion, intending to enter the master bedroom she once shared with Vikram. However, she halted upon hearing Priyanka's voice from the adjacent room. Shocked that Priyanka was in Vikram's mansion despite them not being married, Sahana moved closer to confront her—only to overhear a conversation that shook her to the core.

"Hi, darling! How are you?" Priyanka cooed.

"Babe, missing you so much already," the man on the other end responded.

"Me too, but don't you want to know where I am?" Priyanka smirked. "Vikram's mansion. I finally fooled that idiot into letting me stay here. Now, no one can stop me from getting what I want. Very soon, I'll marry him, and our plan will be executed."

"Don't you think we need to celebrate?" her boss gave an open invitation.

"Of course! I'll call you again. Let me get refreshed. Bye, darling."

Sahana's breath hitched. She had believed Priyanka genuinely loved Vikram, but now she realized the truth that Priyanka was a threat to him. Silently, she stepped away and entered her room, her mind racing.

She had decided to sign the divorce papers for Vikram's happiness, but now, if she signed them, she would be handing him over to a scheming woman. She had to stay back and expose Priyanka's true colors. It wouldn't be easy, Vikram wouldn't believe her.

Suddenly, she felt dizzy. She grabbed the table for support, knocking over a flower vase. The sound echoed through the silent mansion. Hearing the crash, Priyanka rushed into Sahana's room, startled.

"What are you doing here?" Priyanka asked, her eyes narrowing.

Sahana crossed her arms. "That's my question. What are you doing here?"

Priyanka smirked. "You should ask Vikram that. He brought me here. Looks like he can't live without me."

"Oh, I understand now. That's why he put you in the guest room while I still stay in his master bedroom. Seems like I'm still the queen of this mansion." Sahana said that irked Priyanka.

Priyanka's face twisted in fury. "How dare you?!"

"Do you know the biggest mistake I made in my life? Keeping you by my side." Sahana said gritting her teeth.

Priyanka sneered. "Aww, thanks to you, or I wouldn't have gotten Vikram in my life."

Sahana's eyes burned with determination. "Don't you dare think you can take Vikram away from me."

She suddenly felt her head spinning. She clutched the cot for support. Hearing Vikram's approaching footsteps, Priyanka's eyes gleamed with mischief. She grabbed a knife from the fruit tray and swiftly cut her hand. A sharp cry filled the room.

Vikram rushed in, his eyes widening at the sight of Priyanka's bleeding hand.

"Priya! How did you get hurt?" he asked, concern lacing his voice.

Priyanka clutched her wrist dramatically. "Vikram, Sahana attacked me with a knife! It hurts, Vikram!"

Vikram's gaze snapped to Sahana, his eyes burning with rage. "How dare you hurt her?!"

"Vikram, don't believe her! She cut herself to trap you!" Sahana pleaded.

"Please, Vikram, let her go. Forgive her for my sake," Priyanka whispered weakly.

Vikram exhaled sharply. "Come on, let's go to the hospital."

"No, Vikram, it's just a cut. Just get me some first aid." Priyank pleaded and Vikram led her to the guest room to dress the wound, but an unsettling thought nagged at him. He was a man of action, not one to dismiss suspicions.

He turned to Priyanka. "Priya, I need to ask you something. Did someone enter the mansion while I was gone?"

Priyanka blinked, feigning innocence. "No, Vikram. It was only me and Sahana. But why do you ask?"

He studied her face carefully. "Are you sure she hurt you?"
