Chapter 12

Recap: Sahana confess her feelings to her friends whereas Priyanka gets frustrated on hearing it.

Sahana, Rakshat, and Samrat got into the car and waited for Priyanka. Lost in thoughts of Vikram and the chain, Priyanka walked slowly towards them. But just as she was about to get in, she noticed Vikram leaving at the same time. Her gaze lingered on him, unable to look away.

Sana, sensing something unusual followed Priya's line of sight and found Vikram standing by his car. Casually Vikram's eyes met Priyanka's and they exchanged a small smile. Sana noticed it too, and a sharp pain shot through her heart. She felt shattered by this sudden change in Priya and her behavior. Clenching her fists, she remained silent, deciding to confront her in private.

When they reached home, Sana excused herself, claiming she had a headache and left for her room without speaking to anyone.

Later that night, after everyone had retired to their rooms, Sana walked over to Priya's room, determined to talk. But the moment she opened the door, she was met with a shocking sight, Priya was holding Vikram's photo, kissing it, and whispering,

"Vikram, I will get you by any means... hook or crook."

Sana's blood boiled. Without a second thought, she stormed in, slapped Priya hard across the face, and walked out without a word.

Vikram's POV:

I reached the Taj, and the press conference went smoothly without any commotion. But one particular question about love stayed with me. It reminded me of the feeling I had when that girl dashed into me earlier today.

After the event, I was about to leave when a call came in. As I spoke, I wandered into the backyard. That's when I saw her, the same girl, chasing a firefly.

It was dark, and I couldn't see her face, but curiosity got the best of me. I followed.

When she turned and saw me, she stepped back in fear but quickly composed herself. She tried to walk away, but her foot slipped, and she fell right on top of me.

I held her, my hands resting on her soft, slim, bare waist. The familiar lavender fragrance enveloped me, and for a moment, I didn't want to let go. My heart pounded as I looked at her, completely mesmerized.

She struggled to get up, but her chain had tangled in my blazer zipper. She tried to remove it, but as someone approached us, she unhooked the chain and left it with me before disappearing into the darkness.

I called after her, but she didn't stop.

Minutes later, I saw her returning. This time, I apologized. As we walked towards the light, I was stunned, she was the same girl I had met at the temple and the orphanage.

Three times today, I had met her eye to eye, but the feeling was different each time. The moment she dashed into me at the temple, the moment she fell on me in the backyard... and even when I moved away from her at the orphanage, I felt something overwhelming.

What was this emotion?

Until I understood it, I would keep this chain and pendant as a treasure. Or... I would return it if she ever asked.

Sana's Mansion:

Everyone gathered for breakfast, but Rakshat quickly noticed that Sana wasn't her usual self.

"Sana, you okay? You don't seem well."

"I'm fine, bro. Just a headache, nothing to worry about," she replied, forcing a weak smile.
