Recap: Rakshat and Samrat were telling Vikram about Sana.
******************************
The afternoon had drifted into the evening unnoticed as the boys chatted away, completely oblivious to the passing time. The clock had already struck 5 PM when Vikram finally excused himself.
"Sana must have woken up," he said, standing up. He went upstairs and soon returned with her. The group shared a warm tea-time conversation before Rakshat and Sam decided to leave.
"Take care, both of you," Sana said with a smile. "Keep visiting often."
"Of course!" Sam grinned. "We'll come often to disturb you."
"Shut up, Sam," Rakshat muttered before turning to Vikram. "We'll meet soon. Bye."
"Bye, Rakshat. Bye, Sam," Vikram responded. "Thanks for this day. I hope we get to meet again soon."
With that, Rakshat and Sam left the mansion, leaving Vikram and Sana alone.
Sana turned to him, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Vikky, thank you so much. I don't have words to express how I feel right now. It's been such a long time since I met Dad, and today... I'm so happy."
Vikram shook his head. "Didn't I tell you? No thanks and no sorry between us."
"Okay," she chuckled. "But I never expected this day would bring back all my happy memories."
Vikram cupped her face gently. "My dear wifey, anything to make you happy."
Sana's smile softened. "I love you, Vikram."
"Love you too, Sana." He kissed her forehead. "Now, what shall we do?"
"How about a walk? I usually go for a walk in the evening."
"Then let's go to the garden."
Hand in hand, they strolled through the lush greenery. Vikram matched her slow pace, enjoying the quiet moment. But soon, Sana's face contorted in discomfort. She pressed a hand to her chest, wincing slightly.
Vikram noticed immediately. "Sana?" He stopped, concern flashing across his face. "What's wrong?"
She didn't respond, struggling against the discomfort. Without wasting a second, Vikram helped her sit down and quickly dialed the doctor. He then carried her back to their room, his heart pounding in fear.
Minutes later, the doctor arrived and checked on her. Vikram paced anxiously outside until the doctor finally emerged.
"Doctor, how is my wife? How is our baby? Please tell me she's fine!"
The doctor chuckled. "Relax, Vikram. It's nothing serious."
Vikram scowled. "Nothing serious? My wife was in pain, and you want me to chill?"
"It's just gastric discomfort," the doctor explained. "It's common during pregnancy. Normally, elders at home handle such things easily by ensuring the right diet. You need to make sure she eats food that digests well to avoid this."
Vikram sighed in relief. "Oh... How is she now?"
"I've given her an injection. She'll be perfectly fine soon. But she may need an elder's presence to care for her. If that's not possible, I suggest hiring a caretaker or a nurse. Just my opinion."
"Thanks, doctor. I'll take care of it."
Vikram rushed into the room and pulled Sana into a tight hug, caressing her back.
"How do you feel now, sunshine?"
"I'm fine, Vikky. Nothing to worry about."
"I was scared," he admitted, his voice thick with emotion. "I felt like my heart would stop."
