Chapter 9: Un-egg-spected

Amelia Jade:

I woke up the next day hyperventilating.

Flashback:

"Isn't there anything you can do about it?"

"I'm sorry Amelia but it's out of my control. He is far too powerful."

Present:

It was just one thing after another wasn't it?! Gosh I hate my life.

"Hey! How's it goin'?" Sonic asked bursting through the front door. He whisked me into his arms and spun me around. Teehee, at least he was there for me-.

"Morning Sonikku," I said giving him a peck on the cheek.

"Awwe, that's all I get?"

"For now," I said booping his nose with my finger and giving him a flirtatious wink.

"Come on guys, let's go!" Amy exclaimed, bursting out the door. -and Amy too.

"Wait, I gotta finish packing," I said running upstairs. I packed a few sandwiches, junk food (because junk food is life), my RingPod which Tails fixed over night, a journal, I Bring the Fire VI: Ragnarok by C. Gockel, and some water bottles in a brown leather knapsack.

I almost tripped on something going downstairs but Sonic was there to catch me.

"Hehe, thanks."

Everyone rode in Tails' huge plane while me and Sonic decided to run on foot -meaning he carried me- and we dodged obstacles like people and hot dog stands along the way.

We happened to zip by Cindy Chander (that annoying preppy girl, if you don't remember her from chapter 2). When she saw me in Sonic's arms her eye twitched from irritation.

"Who the heck is that witch?!" Yeah, forgot to mention she has a crush on him.

I winked in her direction just to spite her, because I'm evil like that and she deserves it.

At the G.U.N Fortress, the five of us waited outside for the Commander and the members of 'Team Dark' as Shadow called them.

"Sounds like a Pokemon gang from a bad fanfic in my opinion," I thought.

"Well that's offensive," I heard a snarky voice in my head. O.O

"Shadow? Where are you right now?"

"Right behind you."

I jumped and almost fell backwards when I saw Shadow standing a few inches behind me.

"Woah!"

He just snickered. Not cool -_-. I turned my attention to the Commander and the group of G.U.N soldiers following behind him in an orderly fashion. They came to a stop, did a salute and said the United Nations pledge of allegiance.

"State your names!" The Commander boomed. They all took off their helmets one by one saying their names.

"Cara Jones!" She had bleach blonde locks tied back into a tight bun. Her eyes were sapphire blue and she wore light pink lipstick. She looked to be about my age. She had an aura of authority, almost as strong as the Commander's.

"Alexander Young!" He had teal eyes, elf-like ears and shot auburn hair. He was probably about fourteen years old.

"Captain Ian Flynn!" Ian was a slightly chubby redhead with matching facial hair and brown eyes. From the looks of it, you could tell he was eighteen years old. He was the Captain of the team and all but you definitely tell that Cora was the one who pulled the strings of the operation.

The Commander went down a long list of names until about twenty people were mentioned.

"Your mission is to escort Amelia Jade in her search for the chaos emeralds and back safely. Anything happens to her and I will personally fire you all." Now I'm really hoping I don't die.

"SIR YES SIR!!!" Ouch. And I don't think they'll ever need a megaphone.

The Commander unloaded a huge box from a G.U.N truck (yes, that G.U.N truck) filled with a wide variety of weapons and a few other boxes containing food and baked goods. I felt like they went a little overboard with the cookies though (I'm not really complaining).

"Here are some supplies for your journey including weaponry of your choice."

Everyone got a set of three weapons and climbed aboard a massive, anti-gravity, bullet train car. It was jet black with red neon under lights and imprinted with the G.U.N symbol on both sides near the front.

"That includes you," the Commander said, his eyes drifting in my direction.

"Really?" he is the last person I'd expect to trust me with a weapon.

"I give you permission but only as a last resort Amelia, am I clear?"

"Sir yes sir?"

Some random guy who looked to be about thirteen nudged me in the shoulder, "Hey, you should get the harpoon."

"Actually that's mine," Ian Flynn took the harpoon gun, a rifle and electric throwing stars.

"Okay... I guess I'll take-"

"Sorry, those are mine," said Alexander taking a metal staff, a stun gun and daggers.

"I'll ta-"

"Nope!" Cora cut me off snatching two pistols away from me, a sniper and huge sword that looked like the one Zabuza had from Naruto.

I sighed until I saw a katana; a crossbow and a pair of rocket shoes lined with gold & had a gold line that went straight down the center that matched my rings. They screamed my name and I quickly snatched them before anyone could make claim.

"We also have another... unexpected ally accompanying you on your journey."

"Unexpected how?" Shadow asked slightly irrate.

Eggman flew in on a hovercraft. "Hello you pesky blu-" but crashed into the side of a building. The Commander face palmed.

"EGGMAN?!" everyone except Shadow & the Commander shouted in unison.

"...that was very Uneggspected" said Sonic.
