Sidebloggable Prompt: "Fused Together"

Tumblr Prompt: https://otpprompts.tumblr.com/post/98312008655/imagine-the-strange-love-story-between-your-otp/amp

"Person A is a ghost, person B is immortal. Person B will never die, person A will never be alive again, but person B can see and interact with person A and, well, they can have some sort of relationship." (Based loosely on this)

"...Really, that was a foolish endeavour. Did you have any brains at all? Stupid humans."

Standing over a dozen corpses of the Kisaragi Security Division was a white-haired woman in a bloodstained grey dress. Except it wasn't a woman at all, it was an Alter Ego uploaded into the braindead woman's mind.

Using the power of Divine Luck, Alter Ego Mikado had slaughtered them all.

"What a pity, I'll have to wash these clothes. Or maybe find new ones," Mikado remarked, looking down at his new appearance. "And maybe find a shower. I don't think anyone has washed this body in a long time."

With a sigh, Mikado began inspecting the bodies of the dead in front of him, seeing if there was anyone who matched his, or rather, Akane Taira's body type.

"Oh, that woman over there seems to be the right size." Mikado went to a certain body and began taking off its uniform to get to the clothes underneath.

"Undressing a woman's body like that, you really are a pervert."

The voice that came from behind spooked Mikado, and he whirled around to see who had spoken. It belonged to a person who shouldn't have been there. "Sora...how?" he gasped. "How are you here? Not only did I put you in your ideal world, but you're a simple algorithm!"

"I have no idea. But I woke up in the real world somehow," Sora shrugged. "Don't start labelling things as impossible when they're right in front of your face."

Mikado stared at her in silence, and he let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Well, the day has already been eventful. Either you're a ghost or a hallucination, but probably the latter," he decided, and he turned around to go back to his task.

"And not only are you stripping this dead woman, you plan to change clothes and, knowing you, look at my body indecently. Pervert," Sora huffed.

Mikado rolled his eyes as he got the woman's shirt off. "For one, it's Ms. Taira's body, not yours. And now that it's mine, shouldn't I take good care of it?" he asked. "Hiding among humans will be difficult covered in blood anyway."

Sora didn't respond to him, turning away grumpily. Mikado managed to change his clothing, but he kept the bloodstained hospital dress so he could wash it later.

"Alright, problem solved!" He smiled as he looked down at himself. "Now, all that's left is to leave the lab."

Having been quiet until now, Sora stepped to his side. "And after you get out of here, what do you plan to do next?"

"This world that I've never been apart of, I want to see everything in person and try everything!" Mikado replied with a smile. "But first, I have to get out of here."

The 'wizard' stepped towards the electronic door and gently pushed it. Because of his newfound power, there was a click from the lock as the door slowly opened. Fresh air began to rush into the lab, and evening light spilled across the ground.

Mikado took a few steps out of the laboratory, and his bare feet touched sand as he approached the shore. The smell of the ocean filled his senses, and he stared out at the sunset over the ocean. His smile grew wider and he began to laugh.

Mikado's body grew weaker from his happiness overtaking him, and he fell to his knees while he continued to laugh. When Sora looked at him in this state, she saw that he was crying from happiness in his hysterical state.

"Finally, after so long...!" Mikado wiped his eyes as he continued to look out at the ocean. "This feeling of immortality, and my own inability to die both in this body and as an AI, I could just bask in this forever..."

"You aren't going to be happy when you start using that body," Sora spitefully warned. "It wasn't long before Master Utsuro realized the drawbacks of Divine Luck, there's no doubt that someone like you is going to feel them even sooner. Don't you practically crave any kind of stimulation."

"I do. That why I'm going to experience everything the world has to offer before destroying it all," he laughed. "And once I've had my fun, I'll go back into the virtual world through BCI and go back and forth between my body and the virtual world at my own whims!"

"You're going to destroy the world?!" the white-haired girl exclaimed, moving to stand in front of the other AI. "What the hell is wrong with you?! You can't destroy the world, stop this nonsense!"

"Settle down now, dear Sora. Your last chance to stop me was at the fifth trial, but you fell into my trap." Mikado shook his head with a small smirk on his face. "There's nothing you can achieve anymore. As for me, with the power of Divine Luck, I simply can do things according to my will."

Sora grit her teeth as she stared silently at him, then moved out of the way. "I know I can't stop you, but I'm stuck with Akane's body..." She looked down at her feet and slowly began to smile. "I think seeing you regret your decision over time will be enough for me. Yeah, I can deal with that."

Mikado decided to ignore her muttering and went to the boat that the Kisaragi Foundation agents used to reach Utsuroshima. He could operate machines like a second body, and it was simple to steer the ship to go towards the mainland.

Sora rarely talked to him on the ship, even when he stood on the bow and stared out at the water with her behind him. "Ms. Sora, how long do you think it'll be before we reach the mainland?" he wondered. "I'm a little curious of which place we'll end up docking at, I should stop at a store and feed this pitiful body of mine."

Sora glared at him disdainfully, refusing to reply to him. Mikado decided that talking to her was a waste of time, whether she was just a ghost or an hallucination, and he continued to lean on the ship's front rail. She might be more talkative at the mainland.

But for now, everything else was trivial to him. Now that he had freedom from his virtual confines, he could finally seek out the happiness he hoped for.
