Sidebloggable Prompt: "Drunk"
Tumblr Prompt: https://otpprompts.tumblr.com/post/161298152681/imagine-person-b-is-away-overseas-for-whatever/amp
"Imagine person B is away overseas for whatever reason, and person A misses them gravely. Person A ends up getting drunk in an attempt to get their mind off person A, becoming really emotional and undone as a result and begins rambling on to their friends about how much they miss person B, going through old pictures their phone and fawning about how cute person B is. They later, while still drunk, end up calling person B, who is in a completely different time zone, becoming completely unraveled and spilling their guts to a sleep deprived person B, admitting that they're drunk and going on and on about how much they love and miss them."
Warning: alcohol and intoxication

Another evening of staring at the stars with the curtains open. Another night with an empty space next to him in bed.
Mikado sighed and turned over again, too used to holding something warm in his arms over the past couple of years. He should have known that his girlfriend would be away sooner or later, it was bound to have happened with her profession.
Mikado had begun dating Hibiki while they attended Hope's Peak Academy, though it wasn't intentional on either of their parts. They had been set up on a date by Nikei and Setsuka as a part of a bet of theirs, but it had gone well enough for them to go on more dates, hang out more, and get to know each other. When they began dating, Setsuka owed Nikei a twenty and a boba tea.
It had been two months since they entered Hope's Peak Academy, but to train for the Practical Exams in September, Melody Rhythm was touring different places internationally to sharpen their skills just a little more. Mikado was warned ahead of time by Hibiki, and he told her that he would be fine while she was gone.
Of course, he didn't account for the sudden wave of loneliness that would come from the one keeping him company leaving him alone like he always had been in his life. He was no closer to finding his saviour, he was all alone, and the evening was cold. In his opinion, it wasn't a good night so far.
Mikado finally got out of bed, bored from his loneliness, and decided to just read a book for a little while. He wasn't sure why he wanted something or someone to cuddle, he was normally fine being alone. But had his heart grown weaker over time? Not even he knew the answer.
Finally, Mikado put down the book and decided to find a way to make himself go to sleep. He and Hibiki didn't use sleeping pills, they could get to sleep just fine without them, but Mikado knew that alcohol could get a person to sleep eventually. He knew from experience that he had a higher alcohol tolerance level than his girlfriend, but since he took care of her when she was drunk, he didn't know how high it was.
He opened the liquor cabinet and searched inside to find a variety that he liked, and he took out a bottle of wine. Hibiki had lots of money as an idol and Mikado could hack for money, so their liquor was always fancy. Mikado preferred red wine, and he sat down at a table to pour himself a glass.
He put the bottle down and held the glass to his lips, drinking down the bitter liquid. He didn't feel any effect from it, so he figured that he could just drink idly and keep himself occupied until he felt tired enough to go to sleep.
This was, of course, a bad plan created by flawed logic that Mikado had. However, he was too caught up in his own emotions and 'brilliance' to realize that.
A few glasses later, he decided to check his phone and go into his photo gallery. He didn't use his phone for much other than making calls and sending the occasional text, but he used his photo gallery to take pictures of his dear loved one, sightings of his 'master' on CCTV, and the occasional recipe he wanted to try out.
He sorted these photos into folders for efficiency, and he started browsing through the images he had taken of Hibiki. If he were fully sober, he would admit that he was obsessive, but he started cooing at the pictures in his current state.
"She really is like a doll, isn't she? So tiny, but so precious," he chuckled to himself, swiping to another photo. "Small enough to hide in my cape too! So cute..."
He kept looking at the photos, thinking more about the vocalist and wanting her to be with him. But though she wasn't in the house right now, he knew that he could still hear her voice if he called her number. He didn't think about any other details as he dialled her number on his phone and waited a few minutes.
After a few minutes, Hibiki finally picked up the phone. "Mika..? It's four in the morning here..." she sleepily told him before yawning.
"Hibiki! I'm so glad to hear you! Fufufu, your voice sounds prettyyyyy..." The wizard trailed off in a fit of quiet laughter, happy to hear the voice of the one he loved.
Hibiki woke up a bit more and was confused at first. "Mika, are you alright? Your voice sounds odd," she questioned as the answer began to slowly dawn on her. "Um, can you walk in a straight line?"
"I can't exactly do that since I am not standing up," Mikado replied matter-of-factly.
Hibiki sighed as she finally realized what the combination of Mikado's Mad Hatter logic and his voice being a bit loopy meant. "Are you drunk right now, Mika?" Hibiki asked, shaking her head.
"Maaaaaybe!" the blonde replied in a teasing tone, fidgeting with his hair while talking on the phone. "I thought that drinking enough would make me go to sleep faster, so-"
"It doesn't do that, Mika, it gets you drunk and a headache in the morning," she sighed as she rubbed her forehead. "It's evening over there for you, isn't it? Why are you resorting to alcohol to go to sleep?"
"Um, that's sort of embarrassing..." Mikado paused for a few seconds before continuing, "I was lonely and having trouble getting to sleep because you weren't here, so I thought that I could sleep faster."
Mikado heard Hibiki stop talking as she processed this. "It's been a week, have you been sleeping badly- No, don't answer that. We need to get you to bed as soon as possible, that's the main idea."
Mikado nodded on his side of the phone call, even though Hibiki would have no way of knowing this. "Well, since my thinking is temporarily misled and compromised, do you have any ideas?"
"Well..." Hibiki began to think, and then got an idea. "You have a Spotify membership, I made sure you got one, so why don't you just listen to Melody Rhythm songs while you go to sleep?"
"Will that work?"
"No clue, but you'll be listening to my voice as you go to sleep, right?"
Mikado thought about it, realizing that there was some logic to her words. "Well, I'll try that then. Goodnight, dear."
"Love you, Mika." Hibiki ended the call first.
Mikado stood up from his table and began wandering back his his bed, not bothering to put away the wine bottle and empty glass. With his phone in his hand, he went onto Spotify and began looking up Hibiki and Kanade's music. As he clicked a playlist with all of their songs compiled in one list, he practically collapsed into bed.
Mikado let the music play with the screen off, and he pulled some blankets in his arms as he subconsciously imitated the sensation of holding something close to him. He closed his eyes and listened to the voice of his girlfriend, and he began to finally drift to sleep.
