So that's the story of the night Pony asked me out. It's been a few months since then and we've gotten real close, and things are going pretty well. Really well actually. It feels so right.

I woke up this morning to feel a soft breeze over my face. I opened my eyes and saw Johnny collecting the news papers we used last night for warmth.

Johnny and I had slept at the lot last night since our folks were home fighting, and we didn't want to get beat or involved in any way.

The air was so fresh this morning. The sun was shining brightly over my face. It almost felt like a summer morning, though it was only a warm Sunday in the middle of April.

Johnny had noticed I was awake and gave me a sweet smile.

"Morning, Livi."

I gave Johnny a smile back as I sat up in the thrown out couch we had slept on last night.

I helped Johnny pick up the rest of the newspapers. After, we walked back over to our house to see if our parents had left yet. We peered through the windows and didn't see them, neither did we hear any yelling, so we figured it was fine.

I followed Johnny inside, and ran to my bedroom to change into fresh clothes for the day, Johnny doing the same. I slipped on a maroon shirt with ripped jean shorts. I brushed through my dark hair and reapplied my blush and mascara, which is the only makeup I normally wear.

"Ready to go to the Curtis house?" Johnny asked, coming into my room.

I nodded my head.

"Or you ready to go see Pony?" He joked.

I rolled my eyes at him and we left the house quickly. Who could tell when our parents would get back anyways. We filed down the stairs and before we left, I grabbed my jacket off the couch. I slipped my converse back on and we head out the door, walking to the Curtis house.

During our walk there, I enjoyed the nice weather. Johnny and I had talked some as I watched the breeze blowing through the leaves. My skin was warm from the sun shining on me.

Once we arrived, we were greeted by the rest of the gang watching tv in the living room, plate of breakfast in hand. It seemed Darry had been the one who prepared breakfast. He was in the kitchen, removing his apron which wrapped around his torso.

The gang greeted us, and Ponyboy came up to me, giving me a gentle kiss. The others gave me a nod or a quick wave. Sodapop gave me a quick side hug.

"Hey, Taffy." He flashed his movie star smile.

Soda gave me the nickname Taffy, a few years ago. It means, 'beloved friend." He called me Taffy so often, the gang started calling me that occasionally too.

"Hey Soda." I greeted back.

"I've got breakfast ready in here, if y'all want some." Darry called from the kitchen.

Johnny and I accepted and grabbed a plate that contained some classic bacon and eggs. I sat down in the living room beside Ponyboy as I ate. We passed conversation through the living room as we enjoyed our breakfast and watched tv.

Two-Bits eyes were glued to the screen, seeing as Mickey Mouse was on. He always tuned out everyone in the room as long as it was on.

After everyone finished eating, we sat around to play a game of cards. There was some leftover pieces of bacon we snacked on while we played.

Steve leaned back in his chair as he placed his cards down.

"I win." he sighed as he put his hands behind his head in a relaxed manner.
