Our Challenge

Protocol.

Caleb POV

I look at Lyric, "Why aren't you taking the lead?"

She shrugs her shoulders, "Because Kade said you were taking the lead."

I look at Zaiden and he is looking at his phone, "Bunny go get ready. We leave in an hour."

Lyric nods her head and looks at me, "Come on, Caleb. Let's get ready together."

I look at Zaiden and he shows me an evil smile, "Let's go, Caleb. Go get ready with Bunny."

I quickly look back at Bunny, "I have to go talk to my brother for a minute. Lyric you go ahead and get ready."

Lyric pouts and then looks at Zaiden, "Zaidy, let's get ready together."

Zaiden puts his phone in his pocket, "I'm your second choice now, Bunny?"

I walk past them and head to the living room. I look around and see Beckham sitting by the window.

"After all of this is over Kade said he'll take you back home." He quickly looks at me with wide eyes.

"I can't stay?! You're finally free and now we have to be apart again! I'm going to go ta-. Why are you crying?"

I look at him, "Huh?" I touch my face and I feel my tears fall.

Next thing I know I start crying, "Y-Y-You want to s-stay? You don't want to go home?"

I run up to him and hug him, "I'm so happy! I thought you would want to go home and leave me here!"

He shakes his head, "Why would I do that? It's just you and me."

He hugs me back and laughs, "I see that you're still a crybaby."

I try to catch my breath, "I was trying so hard not to cry when Kade told me earlier. Thank God he barely looked up from his work."

He reaches for some tissue that is on the end table beside us. He wipes my tears, "How did you not cry?"

I wipe my nose and sniff, "Kade said something about a job and he said the amount of money you can get on each job."

He shakes his head and I hiccup, "It's a lot, isn't it?"

I quickly nod my head, "Yes."

He laughs, "I'm not going anywhere. You're my little brother, I'll be bad big brother if I didn't stay."

I wipe my tears and take a deep breath, "Okay. I have to get ready. I also have to come up with a plan for us to get the person."

He raises his eyebrow, "You? Why not Kade or Zaiden?"

I scoff and roll my eyes, "Kade's dad wants to see how me and Lyric will work together. Kade says his dad is hiding something about Lyric that he doesn't know."

I look at the clock, "I'll tell you more about it later. I have to get ready."

He nods his head, "Okay."

I walk to my room and get ready. Once I'm done I walk back downstairs and see Kade.

He is sitting at the kitchen table with his iPad. "Figured anything out?"

I groan, "No. We can't just sit on the side of the road and expect them to stop."

Before he can say anything Zaiden and Lyric come in. I notice Lyric pouting, "What's wrong Lyric?"

She looks at me, "Zaiden didn't want to fuck me."

Zaiden laughs, "I told her to wait. She'll love it better till then."
