Our Challenge

Caught One.

Kade POV

"We need to find a way to block all the entrances and a way to get the eagles."

Zaiden looks around and he looks at me, "Are the birds being treated right?"

I raise my eyebrow and shrug my shoulders, "I have no idea. The one Joseph came with should know."

He looks around again and hums, "Nancy, see if you can find a stand-alone gang here. Group of people willing to do some bad things for some money."

Nancy nods her head and I see that she and Jasmine are still watching Lyric.

I look back at Zaiden, "Why do you want a group of people?"

Zaiden smiles, "If we can't blow them up we can shoot everybody that tries to leave or come in."

I look at Victor, "Are the birds treated well?"

He shrugs his shoulders, "I don't know. They are either in a cage or on Ario and Auton's shoulders. Why?"

I shrug my shoulders, "Zaiden wants to know."

I walk up to Jasmine and she looks at me, "You okay?"

I nod my head and kiss the top of her head, "How's Lyric?"

We look at the screen and see Lyric is in a different room.

"Where is she?" Jasmine sighs, "Lyric decided to wander off somewhere. She is communicating with Nancy by writing it down and having us see it. Lyric said there is a woman who is tagging along with her."

I look at Nancy for confirmation and she nods her head, "The woman seems to caught on to Lyric being up to something."

I let out a long sigh and all of a sudden we hear a loud bird screech.

We look up and see a bird falling from the sky. It lands in front of Zaiden and we all watch as he picks it up.

"I got one of the birds." He holds the eagle up.

Victor is the first to break the silence, "You just killed an eagle! What the hell are you thinking?!"

Zaiden looks at the eagle, "I didn't. I took a slingshot from one of the markets down here and shot it with a soft piece of candy."

Nancy drops her head and sighs, "Zaiden, at that speed it could have hurt him."

The eagle is staring at Zaiden and he holds something in front of his beak. The eagle eats it and still stares at Zaiden.

"I gave it a treat and it ate it."

Jasmine holds her head, "Only he would be the one to harm the thing we need or want."

Victor looks at us with wide eyes, "Why aren't you guys more worried or shocked?"

Joseph pats his back, "When working with him you'll get used to a lot of ways things are done."

Nancy closes the laptop and looks at me, "Ario and Auton were notified that one of their birds is missing. We should go to be on the safe side."

I nod my head and look at Joseph, "So what are you two going to do now?"

He shrugs his shoulders, "I don't know. I'll see if I can go check on Lyric to see how she's doing. But we can't do much, Victor said they don't let the men around the women since they are being sold."

Zaiden walks up to us and we look at the eagle, "How do you know if it's a girl or a boy.?"

Victor looks at the eagle, "It's a girl. You hit Flow. Creo is the male and he has a scar across his face."
