I V Y

I made my way inside the hospital, feeling my heart beat pick up with every steps I was taking. I could hear the sound of my heart beating echoing in my head making me lick my dry lips.

I should never have left.

I stopped walking when my eyes fell on my brother who was talking to someone over the phone. He hasn't changed, he looked exactly like he did two years ago. His brown hairs, his diamond-shaped jawline, pale skin, thin lips and green eyes. He and I shared the same hair and eyes colour; brown hairs, green eyes.

He still hasn't noticed my presence yet. Whoever he was speaking to seemed to be interesting him quite a lot. I stood feet away from him, staring at him. I don't understand how he hasn't felt eyes on him. If someone was staring at me, I'd know.

"Excuse me?" The clearing of throat of someone made me turn my head to that person. I took in the appearance of the short bald man wearing a doctor's white coat with a stethoscope wrapped around his neck and glasses on him.

"Yes?" I refrained myself from replying with; you're excused.

"Are you related to Mr Richard and Mrs Florence Reed?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. I was standing in front of their fucking door.

What gave it away, dumbass?

I bit my tongue before nodding, "Indeed."

"You're the sister of Mason Reed?"

"What do you want? Is there something I can help you with?" I asked having enough of his questions.

He shook his head, "no, I just noticed the similarities and couldn't help but to ask. You might visit your parents if you'd like, they're okay."

"Alright, thank you," my tone was anything but sweet as I walked away from the curious doctor. Mason was still busy talking on his phone, he had his back facing me. I passed by him and opened the door, entering the room where my parents were.

My eyes met with my mom's green eyes and the brown eyes of my dad. Dad had a bandage to his head and mom had a bandage wrapped around her right elbow. Thankfully, they weren't that hurt.

"Fucking hell Ivy!" Dad exclaimed, his eyes lightning up which made me let out a chuckle, "hey, dad. I missed you too."

"Ivy!" Mom grinned, "you're here! Saw that Ric? We should get into accidents more often."

"Totally," Dad hummed while nodding, "come on, take a seat, darling." I walked towards them and sat down on the chair in the middle of their beds.

"How are you two feeling?" I asked, my eyes flickering from mom to dad. They both shrugged, "fine."

"How did the accident happen? Which one of you were driving? Dad?" I raised my brows at him, "why do I have a feeling that it happened because of you?"

Mom let out a chuckle while he scratched the back of his neck, "yeah, your mom was driving and-" he was cut off by mom, "he was touching my thighs. Not my fault that his hands are rough. It turned me on. " I let out a sigh. And yes, before you ask, my parents were always so blunt.

"Oh come on, love, you can't put this on me. I did not tell you to wear a fucking skirt, now did I?" Dad questioned, raising his brows at mom who rolled her eyes, "shut up."

"We collided with a stall, nothing serious." Mom assured. When Mason called, I thought something really severe happened to them. I thought I was going to lost them. It's been two years since I haven't seen my parents nor my brother. But I did speak to them over the phone, rarely.

"How have you been, honey?" Mom asked with a sweet smile, "what have you been doing? Do you have a boyfriend? Three months since I haven't heard from you, darling. Might as well as fill us in with the details, don't you think?"

I cleared my throat before answering, "fine. I haven't been in contact for past three months because I've been busy. And no, I don't have a boyfriend."

Dad let out a groan while mom pouted, "aw, that's too bad. Don't worry, we'll find you one!"

"I don't need one," I replied with a roll of my eyes, "and you know it." The sound of the door opening caught our attention. Mason stepped in with a bored look which was instantly replaced with a grin and excited look when he saw me, "this better be fucking real. Ivy?"

"Macy!" I chuckled and stood up as he walked towards me and pulled me in for a bone crushing hug, "baby sis! You're here!"

"I am," I muttered nodding on his shoulder. Seconds later, I broke the hug and shuffled his hairs making him smack my hand away, "you know I hate it when you do that."

"And you know I hate it when you call me baby sis," I retorted, "but you never stopped so don't expect me to stop either."

"I didn't see you come in," he eyed me curiously.

"You were on your phone," I pointed out, "speaking to someone. You were so engrossed in that conversation that you did not see me come in. Your girlfriend?" I wiggled my brows teasingly. He rolled his eyes before shaking his head, "I wish but nope. That was just my best friend."

"Do I know him?"

"Not yet," he replied, "but you'll be meeting him pretty soon. He should be coming over tomorrow. You brought your stuffs right? If you didn't then I'll have someone get then for you because you aren't leaving us again."
