Flashback

Ruby was sitting on the bullhead that was currently flying, taking her to spot the mission that would be taking place at. She was excited and a little nervous about this mission.

Ruby: "Aright, Ruby, you got this! You're going to do the first solo mission for a first-year...alone....with no help. *shake her head* No, I can do this! I can show everyone I can do this!"

The Bullhead lands, and Ruby gets off and thanks the flyer. She begins to make her way to the village. As Ruby walks, she looks at the woods around and notices some big trees and can hear growls. She reaches for her weapon to prepare if anything happens. Soon, on her path, three beawolves jump out and block her way. Ruby pulls out Crescent Rose and charges in and has no difficulties taking out the 3 Grimm.

Ruby: 'If these guys are what I have to deal with; this is GOING TO BE EASY!!!'

Ruby continues to make her way to the village. So far, no more Grimm appeared, but as Ruby was walking, she got this feeling in the back of her head she was being followed? But, when she would turn around, she didn't see anyone. She just shrugged off as paranoid. Ruby soon made it to the village, and the first thing she did was to ask around about the woods and the Grimm she was asked to kill. She noted how some of the villagers gave her a look of worry and nervousness. Ruby soon met the Mayor of the village. He allowed her into the office. Ruby took a seat.

Ruby: "So, what can you tell me about this Grimm?"

Mayor: "Not much, other than ever since it showed up, the grimm sightings in the area have grown and there are a lot tougher to bring down than prior. Before, we could take out most of the small fry grimm but now we have lost some of the best villagers because of this one GRIMM!" He slammed his fist on the table. "Ummm sorry about that, it just been a rough 3 months with that Grimm running around."

Ruby: "It's alright. Tell me, anything specific about this Grimm? What does it look like? Some of its traits? Anything would help."

Mayor: "*sigh* from those who even see what it looks like they said it is smaller than most Grimm. It walks on two feet, and it almost looks like a humanoid?"

Ruby: "Humanoid?"

Mayor: "Yes. I don't know how? But, that's what the eye witness said."

Ruby: stood up. "Well, Mayor you have nothing to worry about. Because, I won't leave until that Grimm is defeated and this village is safe once again."

The Mayor smiled at Ruby and stood up, and went over to her.

Mayor: "I hope you can defeat it. We already lost many villagers and Huntsmans to that thing. Please, be careful. For now follow me, I will show you where you are staying."

Ruby follows the Mayor to an inn where most Huntsmans and Huntresses stay when they come to this village. She thanked the Mayor before heading to her room. Ruby opens her scroll up to send a message back at home, but it fails as soon as she tries. She noticed there was no signal at all. She sighs.
