Hybrid

6- Mission

I wake up around ten. I get up and go down stairs to eat. Patty and Alpha Daniel are talking in the living room. I get me some cereal then join the conversation. Patty notices me sit down. “We are deciding on an attack plan. Or at least some kind of invasion. We need you.”

I look at Daniel and he nodds. “Alex is gone and the house has been put under a spell. I have informed Patty only of a fraction of her abilities.”

I looked at Patty. “I only know that you have the ability to draw out fangs at will.”

I nodd, “And that is all?”

Patty nodded and sighed in relief. Daniel looked at me. “I’ll go with you in a few hours to handle your personal matters. Mean while we discuss our plans. We need to get you inside as a spy and a rescue. Your appearance is unknown to them. And with your long hair and our witch, we could easily disguise you.”

I nodded and listened. “I want you to do this because you need to witness first hand. I know that you can infiltrate deeper than the others. All my spies are males. You as a woman and as a hybrid can get deep into the ranks. You may have to use a few charms of your own but I think that you will be fine. They have a werewolf prisoner that has a great amount of information. I need you to get him out without giving away your identity. To do that you will need a high rank.”

I nodded. “Am I going alone?”

Patty sighed. “We can send a double agent. He was a spy for us originally but the vampires tried to switch him. The vampires believe him to be their spy. He has to return soon with a false report. He will join you and get you established.”

I nodded again and looked at Daniel. “When do I leave?”

“After our private business we will get you changed and disguised. Then you will leave with William, your new coworker.” Alpha Daniel got up and headed up stairs for a few minutes. When he came back he had an empty bag. “Come on Miss Whisper.”

I followed him as we left the house. We walked north for an hour before he told me to shift. He turned his back and I went behind a tree to strip and shift. Once shifted, I picked up my clothing and gave them to Daniel. He placed them in the bag and went behind a tree and shifted himself. After placing his clothing in the bag, he picked it up and we continued north.

‘Hunt as you wish. I will watch and provide protection as you do.’ The gray wolf’s voice rang through my head.

I nodded and took the lead. I sniffed the air and smelled elk. I crouched down and followed the scent to a meadow where there were a herd of elk. One was injured with a broken leg. I focused on that one. I let out a single bark that echoed off a few nearby mountains. The herd’s ears perked up and focused to the left of me. I slinked to my left and found an opening. I crawled up close and dashed at the elk. I grasped it’s neck in-between my teeth and bit down. The rest of the herd ran off. I bit down on the elk and it’s blood filled my mouth. I swallowed and continued to bite down till it was motionless on the ground.

Alpha came up and laid down in the grass to watch my back. I ripped the throat open and drank the blood. After draining the elk’s blood I stood up and licked my lips to clean myself up.

The Alpha stood up as well. “All done?” I nodded. He led the way back to the pack. Before we entered the area he had me shift and dress. He did the same and we entered the land in our human forms.

As we entered the house I noticed the young child from before. She was sitting in the living room eating while Patty watched TV. “Go get ready and Elva will change your appearance once you fix your clothing and hair.”

I nodded and ran up to my room. I was about it get in the shower to get the scent off me when I realized that I had to smell like a vampire. I went and found Daniel in his office. “Umm, I need to smell like a vampire. How am I supposed to do that?”
