23 - Imprisoned

~*Whisper’s POV*~

It’s been a few days in this cell. The vampire feeds me at meal times and gives me blood every other day. I think its day four of being awake. The cell and chain are too powerful for me to break. I am unable to shift. The dam vampire probly drugs my food but I can’t starve myself. Blood-Fang is getting nervousness as the days go by.

I just lie down and count my breaths and heart beats. Blood-Fang interrupts my count once again. ‘How are you calm? Normally I’m the calm one. I don’t like being cooped up like this. Human form is fine but my wolf legs need to able to stretch.’

I growl. ‘I am not thinking about our problem. I am simply counting to pass the time.’

She sighs and there’s a crash from up stairs. I listen closer and here a cry of pain then yelling. A few minutes later footsteps come down stairs. I sit up expecting the vampire.

Shay appears in his wolf and smiles at me. “My, Whisper, your wolf is healing fine. And you haven’t broken the chain so I was right. Sam said that he’s been feeding you. I can see it in your eyes. Too much blood in your diet. But that’s what I want. Hope your enjoying your stay. You have had good behavior so you may get a space upgrade to stretch your legs. Your wolf would love that wouldn’t she?”

I growled and backed away from him. He chuckles then leaves.

‘What did he mean too much blood?’

Blood-Fang whimpered. ‘I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t like this. None of it.’

I sighed as I started to ignore her worried babbling. Whatever he has been feeding me is messing my wolf up. And that’s not acceptable.

~*James’s POV*~

It’s been 4 days of waiting for that cursed computer to find just one of those men. Eddy has been trying to make up for it in every way. Offering me money and food. I got tired of him and demanded that he leave me alone till results come back.

I lay in my bed in the middle of the afternoon when he finally calls me. “James? I have something for the first guy.”

I sigh and mumble to myself. “About dam time.”

I head down stairs and stand behind Eddy as he shows me a map of the area that I need to search. A few towns litter the area. But plenty of woods for a wolf to hide or search through.

Eddy begins to talk. “This guy has been seen in each of these towns multiple times. Death rates have risen and he is a vampire so he has been collecting blood. So Say and Miss Whisper have to be in this area. The problem is that it rains almost daily. So you‘ll have to find a strong scent of one if the guys. I am already starting a search on the others in the same area. I should have both of those back in a hour. Once I have those, it will be a 90 percent chance that she is there.”

I nodd. “I’ll wait for your results while I pack a bag. I’ll be leaving to go get her as soon as possible.”

“No you won’t.” I turned to see Daniel behind me. “You won’t because I have a friend that will handle Shay for you. She will be the one to rescue Whisper. And I plan on calling her and explaining everything to her. You have done well, the both of you, but Shay is too strong for you to take on alone. Even harder if he has other hybrids with him along with Ryan’s men.”

I growl but don’t argue with the Alpha. “I need to do something more. I can’t just sit here and wait!”

Daniel sighed and shook his head. “It is up to our friend. She can kill Shay so it is her choice. WE will find out tomorrow when I call her.”
