11- Betrayel

This time I woke up in the late morning. It was about 10. I got up and went down stairs. As I ate, Daniel found me. “Good morning. Hope that you are feeling better.”

I nodded. “Thanks for the thirst fixer last night. I would’ve had to hunt today without it.”

Daniel sat down at the table next to me. “No problem. I talked to the pack hunters and asked them to save any blood and to label the black gallons with the animal.”

I nodded and picked up my empty plate. I placed it in the sink and went back to my room. I made a short list of things that I wanted. I took the list and asked the Alpha if I could go to the store.

Daniel smiled at me. “We have a store down the road. One benefit to a large pack is that we are a town all ourselves. We don’t need to go anywhere for supplies. We have werewolves bring in shipments monthly.”

I nodded. “Well than I’ll be back.”

He didn’t mind. So after I was ready, I grabbed my credit card and went to the store. I bought a journal, a few pens, and new backpack. As I paid a deep pain filled my heart. I tried to ignore it till it spread. Within seconds I felt like every bit of me was on fire. I cried out as everything went black and I felt like I was falling.

I woke up in a white room. I looked around and noticed that I was in a hospital bed. I sat up and felt the IV in my arm. I called for someone and Daniel came in. “Are you ok? You gave the store manger quite the scare.”

I felt like crying. “No, I feel as if my heart was just ripped out of my chest, like I have a black hole where my heart should be. How long have I been out?”

Daniel looked at me in pity. “You’ve been sleeping for 2 days. Whisper, we don’t know what caused this. And I plan on calling James in a minute to check on him.”

The second he said James’s name my chest hurt more. An image flashed through my head. It was blurry and there was a naked woman lying on a bed. From the way the image looked it was as if I was looking from the point of view of a drunk man fixing to f*ck the girl. The moment the image disappeared, pain flared through me.

I grasped at my chest and fell off the bed as I rolled trying to grab at my chest. I ended up on my back with my hand over my chest. I was bleeding from claw marks I had made myself. I started to cry.

Daniel tried to pick me up but I yelled. “No! Don’t f*cking touch me!”

He backed away from me as I cried on the floor.

After while, I blacked out again. I woke up in the bed but this time my hands were strapped down. My chest had a large bandage taped to it. I looked around to see Daniel. He sat with his head in his hands.

I huffed and pulled at the restraints. “Am I tied because of my chest?”

Daniel looked up at me. “Yes, the doctor is scared of you as well. I tried to call James but a female answered. I didn’t talk to her except to learn that James was busy and will be in danger whenever he arrives here in a few days.”

I growl. “I don’t want to hear about that bastard. How could he want me to learn the meaning of mates, and then cheat on the meaning with another female! And he was drunk too. James is worthless to me!” I spat his name.

Daniel looked at me in sorrow. “He will be punished.”

I growled again. “I will punish him personally. You can have him after, Daniel.”

He shook his head and felt. I used my finger to call a nurse. She came in and untied me after a promise to be good. I asked to leave but she denied my request. “Miss Whisper, you have to stay here till your chest is healed more.”

I sighed. “Fine.”

I lay in the bed and watched TV.

My phone rang on the bedside table. I picked it up and answered without looking at the ID.

James’s voice came across in ragged breaths. “Whisper, I need help! I don’t know where I am and I was drugged.”

I started to cry. “You’re an asshole! How could you call me and lie to me after what you did? Call Daniel if you’re telling the truth. I don’t want to speak to you after what you did to me!”

I hung up and threw and the phone. It landed on a chair. A doctor came in and asked what happened. I passed it off as some asshole calling me. The doctor looked at me disapprovingly. He come over and checked my bandage.

He then released me to go home. I left the hospital and walked for a while, smelling my way to the house. When I entered, I went straight to my room and laid down. On my dresser was the journal that I had bought. I started to write down everything that had ever happened and anything that had ever bothered me. It took a few hours to get up to age 10. That’s where I took a break to eat.

I went down stairs where I found Elva, Patty and Daniel, all talking in the living room. I went to the kitchen and got some food. As I come through the living room, everyone became quiet. I looked at Daniel. “What? Am I not allowed to hear what the discussion is about?”

Patty spoke up. “We were discussing James. We figured that you didn’t want to hear about him.”

I sighed. “So you believe him when he called? After what he did to me?”

Daniel stood up. “I wouldn’t have until a woman took the phone and questioned me. I could tell that she was a vampire. James has been captured. We have to save him or else he can die. Then your pain from his death will indeed kill you, Whisper.”

I placed a fist over my heart. “I don’t care how you save him. I don’t care what happens right now. And I am not helping this time. I can’t do it.”

Elva spoke this time. “You may have too. You are his Mate, you are also stronger than anyone else alive and you are the equivalent of 4 Dark creatures. Whisper Woods, you may be the only one. But we can’t make an attack plan until we know where he is and more information. We have already sent out spies and sent messages to the out posted. They all know to keep an eye open for James. Once we find him then we can do something. For now Whisper, you need to rest and relax.”

I growled and stormed upstairs. I don’t want anything to do with James. He cheated on me, on us. There is no forgiveness from me.

I sat on my bed and wrote in my journal till I fell asleep.
