9- Escape

That next morning I got up early. I grabbed my wallet and fake information. I stuffed it in a pocket. The bag is too obvious. I can’t take it with me.

I found Will’s mind and linked. ‘I have a plan that is going through today. Only thing you have to do is have a car ready outside of the gate or near the gate. A guard that is on our side and I will handle the rest. I start the plan in an hour. Be out there ASAP.’

He confirmed his orders and left the link. I connected to Chris next. ‘Chris be up and alert. We are breaking you out today. James, the guard, is he alone?’

Chris yawned over the link. ‘Yes, he is alone and has a key ring. I’m guessing that he is helping today?’

I sighed as I walked out of my room. ‘Yes, he is joining us. Whatever you do don’t open your mind after this conversation.’

He agreed so I told him the plan. Shortly after I closed the link and arrived in the kitchen. Maul had me wash dishes before I took breakfast down stairs. I took only two trays today. The other vampire was killed last night.

I made sure no one followed me. Once I entered the dungeon James locked the door to give us time. I slid both trays to the werewolf who was sleeping. James pulled out the keys and unlocked Chris’s cell. He shifted as soon as the door was open.

I pulled out my map and showed James and Chris the closest exit. It was up stairs and down a hall way. The hall went right next to a dining room so we had to be fast.

After memorizing the routes there, James opened the main door. Chris went first, me second and James last. We went up the stairs slowly.

At the top we stopped and I listened for movement. All clear, so we start walking in a line down the hall. A door opens behind us and Chris runs.

James and I run after. A woman yells at us and I holler back. “Escaped werewolf, we will catch him.”

I heard her scream and a door slam. Sirens started up behind us. We all run at Chris’s top speed. We quickly run through the door that a guard had just opened. He starts yelling and I spot people behind us.

I point at Chris and James picks him up and we run at full speed, mush faster than any normal vampire or werewolf. In second we slip under the gate that has started to close.

Will drives up in a Volvo, and we all jump into the back seat. Will speeds off, leaving a dust cloud in our place.

Chris smiles with his wolf and I start to laugh. “We did it!”

James hugs me but jumps away when the spark appears. He looks away nervously but I just smile.

Will looks in the rear view mirror. “How in the bloody hell can two vampires run that fast?”

I smiled. “Promise you won’t tell?”

He nodded giving me a puzzled look. “Yes, I can’t help it if I meet an Alpha though.”

I nodd, “James and I are Hybrids.”

Will laughed. “That’s a funny joke.”

James growled. “It’s not a joke. And we are much stronger and faster than any werewolf or vampire.”

Will stopped laughing when he saw that we were serious. “Oh, sorry. That explains a lot. So Amber must not be your real name?”

I shook my head. “No, I’m Whisper Woods. My hair is dyed and a blood witch child made a spell to change my scent and appearance to get this guy out of there.” I pointed at Chris who had crawled into the passenger side seat.
