I woke up with that long dream. I can't believe that I have dreamt that pathetic memory when I was a five year old kid. I sat back up on my bed and yawned. My yawn got cut off when Pat, my older brother, knocked on my door.
"What is it?" I asked with an irritated voice.
"It's already 12 noon and your 13th birthday is stating soon. Get up!"
"Alright! Alright! I'm coming!"
I hate being pushed to immediately function when I just woke up. I went inside the bathroom to take a shower. My annoying messy blonde hair is soaking because of the water. I hate it when it soaks, I will look like a girl when it's wet! I grabbed a towel and dried my hair with it. I went downstairs and Pat was just staring at me. I knew what was coming.
"Don't start with me!"
He turned his looks away from my hair and he smiled at me. I looked at him confused. Just then, my whole family jumped on the scene, startling me a bit.
"Surprise! Happy Birthday, little Johnny!"
"I told you not to call me like that!"
Oh, well. Who cares. I'm 13! Starting out my teenage years, how hard could it be? I ate a slice of the cake, thinking the awesome possibilities of being a teenager. My thoughts faded away when my father tapped on my shoulder.
"John, now that you're a teenager, your mother and I have decided that we should make a few house rules so you won't end up acting crazy."
He paste a huge paper on the wall. He said it's only a few rules, but it appears to look like a hundred of them! I widen my eyes as I adjust to this kind of setting.
"I want you to read the whole thing, John. The whole thing!"
They continue to eat as I read it.
House Rules
1. Love God above all things
2. Honor your mother and father
3. Do not lie nor cheat
4. Do not steal
5. No swearing or cursing
6. Do not play rough
7. No addiction, drugs, alcohol, and drinking
8. No porn stuff
9. Wait for your turn to speak
10. The color black is forbidden
11. Must be home no later than 6pm
12. No watching T.V when it's already past 8pm
13. No television during school days
14. Doing unnecessary stuff while eating is prohibited
15. No cutting
16. No secrets
17. No whispering
18. No rebel stuff
19. Watching M.T.V or other satanic stuff is not allowed
20. No punk, metal, rock, rap, or any other satanic music that does not glorify God
I was find with all the rules but rule number 20 seems weird at all. But what can I do? I'll get another spank on the butt when I disobey them.
