day 4 - prompt: emoji
(yes i did miss the first three days lol). : = - - - - - = : .
It had been twelve days since Dream had removed his mask and shown his face to the other members of the server.
It has been twelve days since anyone has seen Dream leave his house, and everyone was starting to get worried.
Sapnap paces back and forth in his own room, while George nervously fidgets with the loose strings of his sweater.
George looks up at Sapnap who hasn't stopped walking, his eye twitching in annoyance he grabs the younger ones wrist when he gets close enough.
"George? What are you doing?"
"Your pacing is pissing me off! Going back and forth isn't going to do anything!" George snaps back, but immediately regrets it seeing the down look on his friends face.
"Look, I'm sorry, Im just worried about Dream." George lets go of his wrist, only for the other one to collapse on the cushion beside him.
"I'm worried too George." Sapnap pushes the palms of his hands into his eyes, as if he's trying to rid himself of the worry and anxiety he's experiencing.
"But we have to just let Dream have some time by himself, I'm sure he'll figure out whatever he's dealing with." George gives a small smile to the other, who in turn smiles back.
Unbeknownst to the worried two, Dream in fact was perfectly fine in his bedroom, well mostly fine.
"Why can't I do this?" Dream slams his fist on the table, but his face shows no anger, only a slight twitch of his eyebrow.
Since he was young, Dream had a problem with expressions, and being unable to produce a smile or tears caused him to become isolated which did not help him learn how to express his emotions properly.
Thus, he wore a mask, so people can tell his expression by his voice, rather than seeing something mismatched on his face like an angry voice and a neutral face.
So now Dream sits in front of his mirror, trying to make his face change just a little bit, to make it seem like he can move it.
Using a pointer finger on each hand, he hooks it in the corner of his mouth, pulling it up until it might of resembled a smile if you squinted and were a couple metres away.
Dream let's go of his mouth, his lips falling back into the neutral place that they have always been at, and even though it couldn't be seen, he was rippling with emotions underneath.
"Why can't I smile?" Not even tears form in his eyes as the anger washes away to a dull noise and is replaced by a sad ache in his heart.
Dream glances at the photo next to him, one that he was trying to use as a reference for his smile. It was one taken only a couple months ago, of him, Sapnap and George.
Dream is in the middle, while the other two hang onto him like little kids, but it wasn't hard to see the happiness and joy that was expressed in their features.
Dreams heart feels warmer as he looks at the picture of his closest friends, before he hears a buzz from his phone. Reaching over and looking at the screen, hundreds of notifications fill the screen.
Most of them, being from his best friends.
"Shit!" Dream exclaims, quickly unlocking it to read through the messages, but he can already see a pattern.
Worry. All of their messages were words that made them seem anxious, scared even. It's not a surprise though, seeing how he hasn't seen him in nearly two weeks.
Wait... two weeks?!
It was if his brain had been held at gunpoint if he didn't do something fast enough, he quickly sent messages to George and Sapnap, and ran outside, nervously waiting for them to arrive.
It didn't take long, as only a couple minutes later the two arrived, out of breath and with wide eyes, and it took even less time for the two to tackle Dream into a hug.
The two step back after a moment, Sapnap jokingly hitting Dream in the shoulder. "You dummy, we were worried!" He chuckles, wiping his eyes.
"Sorry about that." Dream says, a guilty tone to his voice. But George just looks at Dream confused.
"Are you not happy to see us?" George asks, an undertone of hurt in his voice.
Dream felt a spike in his head at the tone of his voice, hearing his best friend talk right in front of him like that.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about... I can't show you my happiness because I can't even smile."
The two seem confused, wondering if it was a joke before they see Dreams clenched fists and shaking figure. The two leap forward and envelop him in a hug once more.
"Idiot, that was it? I thought you hated us or something." Sapnap chuckles into his shoulder.
"Don't worry Dream. We will just teach you! We can start with the smile!"
Even though the two couldn't see it, Dream was filled with happiness inside, and if it all goes well, theyll be able to see his joy soon enough.
. . .
Sorry it was kinda fast at the end,,, but I wanted to finish it before I went to sleep lolll
