Silence.

Tommy listened to the quiet of the house, thankful that the yelling from outside his room walls had stopped. Dream had finally stopped having the argument where he kept yelling to himself.

Tommy shudders thinking about it, but he sighs softly, happy that it is all finally quiet.

He strains his ears to hear if Dream is still awake and waiting for the young boy, but all that is heard is a gentle snoring from Dreams room, signalling it's all clear.

Quietly, Tommy stands up, wincing from the pain but continuing to stand up nonetheless. Finally upright, he gazes at the work that was done to his body only hours before.

There are purple and green discoloured bruises trailing down his legs, explaining the unending pain that he felt from standing. The newest bruises though, were the ones that hurt like hell.

He looks at his arms and see a couple bruises, added to the collection of old and recent cuts, scrapes and marks that were there previously.

Gently, Tommy rolls up his tattered shirt to check out the damage, just to see how awful it actually is.

His ribs poke out from the lack of muscle on his body, and he is able to count each individual one. His skin is deathly pale, the only other colour is the tones of dried blood.

Tommy continues to pull his grey and red; previously white, shirt sleeves up, trying not to make too many noises from the pure pain of every part of his body.

His arms have taken the brunt of many blows, as he instinctively covers his body with them whenever the psychopath decides to hit him, but this has left them in pain constantly.

Unable to look at himself any longer, he pulls his shirt back down and looks away, disgusted at himself.

The bruises, scrapes and cuts are enough to make Tommy feel sick to the core. Even looking at them makes him feel like throwing up, not that he could throw up much though, with the lack of food in his body.

Worthless, pathetic- Tommy shakes his head, trying to rid the thoughts that start to plague his mind as he quietly creeps over to the door of his room, hoping against all the odds that it isn't locked.

Click.

The door swings open quietly and the boy has to stop himself from screaming in joy. Dream hardly ever forgets to lock the door.

His stomach rumbles in hunger, cursing silently, he bites his tongue to try and not let out a word as he goes out the door.

Sneaking to the pathetically small kitchen, he silently opens a chest. He examines the belongings trying to find an object that he won't realise is missing.

Tommy settles on an apple deep in the chest, seemingly very close to becoming rotten but still edible.

With the apple in hand he closes the chest and sneaks back into his room, making sure that everything in his path is the exact same as it was before.

He crouches down and sits on the floor, avoiding the planks that creak under his weight he lies down on the frayed and tattered blanket that he calls his bed.

Quickly he bites into the apple, savouring the taste of fresh fruit he eats the food quickly, leaving nothing behind as evidence.

Rolling onto his back, Tommy allows himself a tiny smile, and with the small amount of food in his stomach he closes his eyes and drifts off into a restless sleep.

Tommy wakes up not long after, seeing a crack of sunlight come through the boarded up windows of his room.

He quickly puts on his backpack, and with nothing but the empty bag he heads to the front door, trying not to make any noise.

Something creaks form behind Tommy, and that is enough to make him run out the front door, too scared to even turn back to stop the front door from slamming.

He runs toward the forest to hide and scavenge for the day. Just be back in time tonight and he probably will forget about it. With that last thought the bolts into the trees.

The front door slams and Dream moves from his position from directly behind his door to the kitchen, where he goes to look in his chest.

"He took food, we can tell it's missing." The voice inside of Dreams head growls as Dream opens the chest, smiling as he realises that the apple was gone.

"He thought he could steal it without us knowing." Dream starts to laugh, the sound echoing through the empty house, sounding like a crazed killer.

His laugh takes a darker turn, when the voice inside of him starts to manifest, making his voice sound like it has an extra layer on top of it, sounding threatening and low.

"I guess we'll have to punish him won't we." Dream can feel the voice smile as he pulls out his axe, something he instinctively does when he is in thought.

After all, what is a crazed manipulative psychopathic maniac without his weapon?

Dream looks up, staring at nothing in particular as he thinks about the havoc he is going to cause with the axe.

"We're going to teach him a lesson and we're going to make sure he learns."

Tommy finally exits the forest, only too see the sky has become dark and the sun has given way to the moon as he was unable to see the light from under the thick foliage.

He curses, stumbling over the uneven ground as he slowly runs there, but with a body that is as broken as his, he can't go very fast.

In the distance Tommy sees the small house, and there isn't a light on, giving him hope that Dream still doesn't know that he isn't back in time for his mandatory curfew.

He shudders as he runs, trying not to think about the times that he was left beaten and bloody by Dream because he wasn't home in time.

Tommy sneaks quietly to the front door, pushing it foreword gently to try and not let it freak as it opens more.

He stops, his heart dropping and his eyes widening as he realises that he was too late, that there wasn't going to be any getting out of what's going to happen next.

Dream stands in front of him, an axe dangling from his hand as his head swings from side to side as he smiles.

"Hello Tommy. We've been waiting for you."
