Chapter 14

5 days later

We woke up the next morning and had amazing mornings sex. I was pretty sore. Derek's mom is supposed to come to Seattle today. She practically raised me and I love her. I haven't seen her in a long time. I was laying in bed with my robe on. Derek brought me a mimosa.

"Thanks babe" I smiled

"Babe?" He smiled

"Yeahhh" I smirked

He sat on the edge of the bed next to me. I put my leg onto his lap. We took sips of our mimosas.

"Have you ever thought about having kids?" He asked randomly

We looked at each other

"No not really. I'd be a terrible mother" I said

"No you wouldn't but if you don't want kids then that's fine" he said

"I mean- I haven't thought about it but I don't know if I don't want to have any" I said

"I've always wanted a little girl because they are really fun and I have a lot of sisters" he smiled

"Yeah remember when me, you, Addison, and Nathan would play family" I smiled

"Yeah it was pretty fun. Addy and I would be the parents and we would chase you guys down the neighborhood because you were bad. You were so slow and I would get you first. I carried you over my shoulders and brought you back into the house. Remember when I washed your mouth out with soap. I am so sorry for that" he smiled

"Me and Nathan would flick you guys and you would be so mad" I laughed

"Yeah you guys were mean" he smiled

"So were you and addy. You guys hated us" I smiled drinking my mimosa

"I was the oldest out of you guys so I was pretty bossy" he said

"You think" I smiled

"Who let us play that game" he smiled

"I think everyone thought that we were playing aggressive tag" I smiled

"Yeah when I literally hit you for stealing my dog" he said

"Oh right and I ran home crying while I had your dog in my hands" I smiled

"Yeah that was funny" He said

"You didn't hit me hard but you hurt my feelings. I remember that day so clearly" I said

"Okay but remember those college days. We were wild together" he smiled

"Yeah that's when we realized we loved each other, but we couldn't be with each other" I said

"Yeah I don't even remember why" he said

"It would've been hard because we were going to different med schools and you are like 3 years older than me. You graduated when I was going into my sophomore year" I said

"Oh right that was a terrible decision but you ended up going to Dartmouth where you've always wanted to go. I was excited when I found out you were going there" he said

"Yeah you went to Columbia University for med school" I said

"Yeah that was a fun time. Addy and I went there with Mark and my friend Sam that lives in LA now" he said

"Aw that's cool" I said

"Yeah it was pretty nice" he said

"Well everything worked out" I said
