We went back to his trailer. I walked in and took my dress off. I put one of his t shirts on and laid in bed. He walked in and sat on the edge of the bed. He took his blazer and tie off.
"Can we talk. I need someone to talk to" he said
"Of course we can. I'm here for you" I said
He laid back in the bed and I put the blanket over me. He turned his head and looked at me.
"I haven't told you this but I think it's time" he sighed
"You broke my heart in college. Do you remember that day" he asked
"I can never forget it" I said
"I've never felt the same way about any other person except you Meredith. You cheating on me was the worse thing that I've ever felt" he said
"Derek" I said tearing up
"I never understood why you did it. We were amazing together but- but I understand it now. You weren't ready to move forward. Why did you decide to now" he asked
"Because I felt the same way. I didn't know how to talk about it and I finally found myself" I said
"My mom cheated on my dad" I sighed
"He-" I said tearing up
"Fuck" he said looking into my eyes
"He would make me and my siblings do things to him" he said
"Oh Derek" I said
"I walked in on him and Amelia. No one knew that he was doing it to us except my mom. I was 11 when I found out that he was doing it to everyone else. I was 7 when he started making me do stuff. My mom knew the whole time and didn't do anything but that day that I walked into the room and saw Amelia and him. I ran into the room and attacked him. He grabbed me and tied me up. He made me watch while all of us screamed. My mom came in, looked at us, and left. She never came back" he said as a tear drop fell down his face.
"Seeing him at the funeral almost killed me. Everything came back to me and it was so hard to tell anyone this" he said
"I- I don't know what to say" I said shocked
"You have always been the person to take my mind off of everything" he said grabbing my hand
He brought it up to his mouth and kissed the top of my hand.
"I don't want you to see my mom differently" he said
"Oh I'm going to. She let him ruin all of you guys. She knew and didn't do anything. That's sick" I said disgusted
"And when I cheated on you it wasn't because I needed it. I didn't know what to do with my life. You made me feel something that I've never felt before and I ran. I ran" I cried
He hugged me.
"I will never forget how much I hurt the person that I loved most in the world" I whispered
"I know" he whispered kissing the top of my head
He held me until I finally came down from my cries. I slowly pulled away
"We're married and that's all that matters right now" he said
"Mmhm" I nodded wiping my tears
"And we're having these amazing twins" he whispered biting my neck
I started laughing as he tickled me. There was a knock on the door. We weren't expecting anyone. Derek stopped and we looked at each other. He got up and went over to the door.
"Hello" he said opening it
He quickly shut it.
"It's him" he said
"Your dad" I asked
"Mmhm" he nodded
"How does he know where you live" I asked
"I don't know" he said angrily
He opened the door again
"Get the fuck off my property" he said walking out of the trailer.
I got up and went over to the door. Derek dragged his dad by his shirt into the car.
"Don't ever come back. Got that. How did you find out where I lived" Derek asked
"Your mom gave me your address to drop papers off to you" he said grabbing a file
He gave it to Derek
"Leave" Derek spat turning around and walking back into the trailer
He shut the door and I sat at the edge of the bed. He sat next to me. He opened the file and we looked at it. There was a note to Derek and a bunch of papers. We looked through it. She gave us everything. Yes Derek and I. The sisters got some stuff but we got the important stuff. We're obviously going to share stuff with the sisters but damn. She has 2 yachts which she gave to Derek and Amelia. They were pretty big yachts.
"Why was he the person to drop this off" I asked
"I honestly have no idea. I hate him so much" he said wiping his tears away
"Okay I want to be done with this for awhile" he said putting the file onto his dresser
He laid back into the bed and we started hearing a lot of rain outside. I laid my head onto his chest and he wrapped his arm around my back. I cuddled up into him and he wrapped us in a blanket. He turned his tv on and lowered the volume a little bit. I fell asleep in his arms from crying. I woke up a little later and looked at Derek
"Hey I'm sorry for bringing all of that up earlier" he said
"I needed to hear it" i said
"No I shouldn't have said that and I'm sorry. Really sorry. I would've never brought that up" he said
"You're hurt and I get it" I said
"I have to go to Amelia's soon. Will you come?" He asked
"Of course" I nodded
2 hours later
It's been a long day. We got dressed and packed our bags. We decided to stay the weekend in a cabin in the woods. It was cold and snowy. We were staying all weekend. We left and started driving there in his jeep. It was about 4 hours away, but worth it. I can already see us building a bed in front of a fire and having sex on it. This is going to be a good weekend
