1 month later
I was almost 8 months now. It was night and I was laying in bed. Derek was on top of me. He leaned down and started kissing my lips. He put his hand onto the side of my neck and started sucking onto my neck
"Fuck Mer" he moaned softly
He moaned against my skin and my phone started ringing. I ran my hands through the back of his curls. I love his curls. I answered the phone
"Hello" I said as he sucked on the other side of my neck.
"Meredith what are you doing right now" Izzie asked
"Nothing why" I asked
"Turn on the news. You have to see this" she said
"Derek turn on the news" I said
He sighed and pulled away. He grabbed the remote and turned the tv on.
"Holy shit" I said
"I know. It's crazy. Im gonna go but I'll text you about the whole thing" she said
I hung up the phone. Derek and I watched as the Empire State Building exploded. It looked like it came from the inside. Jupiter jumped onto bed with us. He turned the news off and we went to sleep. I woke up. I started feeling a sharp pain in my stomach, I blew it off and went back to bed. I woke up a little while later to a soaked back. Did I pee?
"Derek" I said
"Derek get up" I said
"Mmmm" he said
He got up and I threw the blanket off and looked at the sheets.
"My water broke" I said
He quickly wiped his eyes and woke up more. He started smiling.
"Let's go" he smiled
"I'm changing" I smiled
I changed my clothes and he changed his. He helped me downstairs and gave me his keys.
"I don't care if you get anything in my car" he said walking upstairs.
I left the house and went into the car. I turned the car on and sat in the passenger seat. Derek brought the twins out and the baby bag. He drove us to the hospital and Amelia came out. She took the twins. Derek pushed me in my wheelchair down to the room.
"Derek I told you I can walk" I smiled
"I know but you shouldn't" he said as we went into the room.
I got up and undressed. I put my gown on and laid down onto the bed. A nurse came in and checked my stats. She left and everything was going great.
Until she came into the room.
"Hi Doctor grey" she smiled
That voice. I know that voice. I looked at Derek and back at her.
"No you get THE FUCK OUT OF HERE" I screamed at her
"Dr. Robbins is out on maternity leave" she said
"She was pregnant?" I asked
"She had a surrogate and she just had another little girl with Callie" she said
I got back to what I was saying when my contractions hit. I grabbed Derek's hand and held it tightly as I screamed. The shocking stopped and I looked at her.
"Meredith listen. She's my step sister Beck, she's a peds doctor. She's been helping me a lot. She's good" he said
I had no idea. I've never seen her before.
"Oh" I said
I aid back and she checked me
"Everything all good and you're already 9 centimeters" she smiled
"I'm impressed that I didn't need an epidural" I smiled
"Honestly me too" she smiled
30 minutes later
"Are you ready" she asked
Her delivery team came in
"Yes" I said
"You can start pushing now" she said
Derek looked down at me and I grabbed his hand
"AHHHHHH" I yelled as I pushed
"That was a great push" she said
I pushed again and another 2 more times. I was exhausted. It was finally done with and I laid back. I hurt Derek but I didn't even care.
"Here's your beautiful baby boy" she said showing us him
He was crying. The nurses quickly took him. They cleaned him off and brought him over to me. He laid on my chest as he cried. I was crying with joy as I held him. He has Derek's dark black hair. He's so adorable. I love him so much. Derek was sitting right next to me.
"Hi little guy" Derek whispered
I laid my head in Derek's chest.
"I love him so much" I smiled
"I know you do" he smiled
I looked at him and he kissed my lips. We were both crying now. We looked back down at him. He has curly hair and I love how soft it is. I kissed his tiny little forehead. I never want to let him go. The nurse took him away and it shattered my heart. They have to do work ups on him. I kept crying and I turned over. I ended up crying myself to sleep. I woke up and I could barely talk. My body was numb. I looked down and saw a bunch of blood on the bed. Derek was sleeping in the chair next to me. I grabbed my call light and pressed the button. I kept pressing it and passed out.
Derek's POV
The doors opened and I woke up. I looked at Meredith. I got up and looked down at the blood.
"Meredith" I cried
They took her bed out of the room and I walked with them. They made me go back because I couldn't go to the OR. I went up to the nicu and went to our little boy. I put my gown on and walked in. I held him. He was sleeping in my arms.
4 hours later
Meredith's POV
Derek's sister had the chart in her hand and looked at both of us.
"Just tell me" I said
"You pulled a clot and lost a Fallopian tube" she said
"I won't be able to have kids anymore?" I asked
"It's not impossible but it'll take a long time" she said
Derek and I looked at each other. He held my hand.
"Where is he" I asked
"In the bassinet" he said
I looked next to me and saw him.
"You guys are ready to leave tomorrow. He's doing very well and I think it's best that he goes home so I'll leave you guys" she said
"Why aren't you holding him" I asked
He seemed scared
"I can't look at him after what he did to you. You almost died Mer. This is so fucked up. I'm trying not the think about it but all I see id you in him and thinking about blood coming out of your nose and mouth" he said as tears fell down his face.
"It's not his fault" I said
"He did this to you and I know but it's hard for me to put that aside" he said
"Where are the twins" I asked
"Still with Amelia" he said
"Go be with them" i said
"I'm not leaving you no matter what" he said
