I awoke in a room, but I could not quite see where. (how does that work? :D) It was dark outside, I knew that. It was also quiet. Very quiet. Usually the mansion was bustling with noise, Jeff and Ben picking a fight with Sally, Jack and Jack talking to each other, and all the other many voices coming from everyone. It was quite strange.

I rose from the bed, looking for a sign of any life. Had everyone left? But where too? No one was in the living room, where most everyone would gather. Kitchen too. I checked every room, and reaching Sally's I found a peice of paper tacked to the door. It read,

Uncle Slendy,
I am fine first of all. Jeff caught me before I got the tree. We were all scared for you so we all went to the human realm. If no one is here then we succeeded. Please, rest. Your hurt. We will find Night. Promise.

Sally. And everyone else. :)

I was quite shocked. And slightly angry. Why would they go out into the human realm with no lead, and possibly him looking for them? Why?

I stomped out of the house. I reached the well to find Hoodie, sitting on the rim, waiting for something. He turned his head, noticing my arrival. He nodded as a welcome.

What are you doing here, I said. Didn't everyone go?

He shook his head...then spoke. I had never heard him, in all his time at the mansion speak. It surprised me. It was a soothing voice, almost like a mother's, yet very gruff, like a dangerous man. I was taken off guard by the combination.

"I decided to wait, to see if they would come back. If anyone would."

You can speak?

He gave a slight chuckle. "Yes."

I never knew, or heard you for the matter.

"My voice, it's special. I has born into a family of cults and witches. They do exist, and their magic..." he paused. "It's real. They cursed me. Their son, into a life of silence. They thought I could handle the magic of voice, but I was five. Just a child." He stayed silent for a moment. "I can speak, and people will listen. Like they are hypnotized. So...I stay silent."

I stood there. Wow. Really? That's quite...

He interrupted me. "Don't pity me. I'm still Hoodie. The same one.

Yes. I said. It was true. His voice, was hypnotic-like. I stood there for a moment, deciding to get off the topic. When had they gone? I then asked.

"Four days."

How long was I out?

"Six."

I stared at him, not believing what he said. What happened to me? All I remember was getting upset, then Sally running to me...and blacking out.

Were you out here? I said trying to stop the memories. The whole time?

"Mostly. Are you going?"

Yes, and you?

He thought for a minute, and replied with, "Yeah, I have some business to deal with."

Okay. Grab my arm. He did and I sent us to the human realm. We ended up at the edge of a forest, in a park. Thankfully, it was night and no one was around. Hoodie let go, and cocked his head to the left.

"It's where she was sent. The hospital."

Looking around me, he was right. It was the town I visited long ago, sending Night to live, like a normal human. As you can see in this predicament, did not work. She is far from normal. She's my daughter.

"Hey," Hoodie said pointing to the left of him, down a street that was empty and dark. "There's Jack." Indeed, there was a man dressed in all black and a hood covering his face. He walked up the street, towards us. From what it seemed though, the person didn't notice us.

Jack?

The man looked up, as if he had heard something. Yes, that was Jack. That mask could be identified anywhere. Jack, come here.

He looked around, wondering where the sound was, then saw us. His direction changed, bringing his to us. "Hello." He said happily, egar to see.

Hello Jack. How are you? I was trying to seem fine, not angry. I was slowly failing.

He grinned behind the mask and said, "Fine, and you guys." He then turned to Hoodie. "I see you decided to come. Change your mind?" Hoodie nodded in reply.

What are you doing?

"Looking for Night. Everyone is. Didn't you get the note?"

Yes. Yes I did. Where is everyone?

"Oh, they are looking too. Except Sally, Ben and Lost. They are watching over Sally. She's sleeping...pretty tired she is. Ya know she stayed up, by your bed as you slept? Never left."

She did? I feel quite bad for her. Leaving her to worry about everything. What kind of grand...uncle am I? Where is she staying? Where are you guys staying.

"In a small alley," Jack said, pointing to where he came from.

Ah. But...what, where have you guys been sleeping?

"There's a mattress there, hidden away. Found some blankets as well. We all take shifts sleeping. And those who don't or off shift are on lookout, and searching for Night."

Hoodie cocked his head again, looking to the right. He tugged my arm fabric, wanting to get my attention. He seemed antsy.

What?

He pointed to to where he was looking, and his finger showed a silhouette of a person and an animal walking towards us.

Quick, hide in the trees. We all did, watching the person pass. Listening to what was going on. It seemed to be two voices, and one was oddly familiar.

"Masky?" Hoodie whispered, slightly terrified.
