Tenen thought the world ended when he watched Rin fall. Parts of him did die when she didn't wake up and even several months later he still can't shake the dream like state his mind is in, still stuck on the last few moments when Rin gave her life for his.

Everyone of her subjects expects him to be the king they envisioned would rule by her side and he's really tried everything but with each day that passes with no results on Rin's condition he gets closer and closer to the edge.

He knows he is slowly losing it and he fears he just can't keep it together for the kingdom that became his responsibility over night or long enough for Rin to wake up.

Tenen's trying to impress everyone looking up to him but with his father's sudden appearance not so proud of his stature in society, he's thrust in the days he lived under him, memories he'd long forgotten returned clear as day. He just has to wait, tolerate him long enough to get what he wants, for his father holds the key to Rin's consciousness.

.....

'Why are you here?'

It had been over seven years since Tenen had seen his father and even now he couldn't dismiss the way his heart still skipped a beat in what he would never admit to, still being fearful of the man.

'Is that how you greet your father'

'You are not my father in the sense only by title.'

The silence in the room was palpable. Callum could feel the way the energies of both men demanded submission, Tenen's father's being much stronger and if he had been a mere weak fae he would have left as most of the council had done.

'Now isn't that a little bit disrespectful son, considering all you left behind to sit on someone else's throne.'
