CHAPTER 22

ADAM'S POV
I rushed through the hospital door carrying Alaina's body.She had lost so much blood.

"I need a doctor here!"I yelled.Everyone's attention was on me.Two men immediately bought stretcher.I placed her body gently on that as they both ran towards the emergency room with a doctor and few nurses behind them.

I immediately called Jace after she was out of my sight."Hey Dude!"Jace said."It's Alaina."I said on the phone.I explained him everything and asked him to bring Riley and Kenzie too.

It's been 5 days since accident.Alaina has been doing much better according to Dr.I have been staying with her almost every night.Whenever I have to go for a urgent matter Riley or Kenzie stays.Even Carter and Allie sometimes visits.

I was sitting on my couch dealing with some paperwork when my phone rang.The caller Id said Alaina.My heart literally did flip flops just by seeing her name.

"Hello!"I said answering the phone.

"A-Adam he-help" she croaked.Is she hurt?! "M-my house." She cried."Alaina!"I yelled on the phone.

I quickly ran towards the car and started driving towards her house.I kicked open the door and my heart dropped at floor.

She was in a pool of blood.Her cheeks were forming a bruise and her eyes were close.I ran towards her and checked her pulse.Oh thank god!She was still breathing.

I picked her carefully and carried her out to my car.I started the engine and soon reached the hospital.A tear slipped through my eyes seeing her like this.

We have been trying to find out who would have hurt her.But every evidence we get is a dead-end.Now there are only two suspects remaining,David and Emily.Emily is out on the vacation and David is on a business trip.

When I asked Riley,She started panicking.So I didn't force her because she will have an asthma attack.I don't want any more of my friends getting hospitalised.It's bad enough the girl I really like is in hospital.

I just decided to ask Alaina after she wakes up.

"She had two degree burns on her stomach.The boiling substance was pour after someone made two cuts on her body with a glass bottle.And..Uh she was stabbed two times on her abdomen.She also has many cuts and bruises all over her body which were made more than a year and some faint letters were carved on her back.Hopefully the letters will not leave scars but the deep cuts which she treated by herself will be there for life time."This were the words of Dr.Sawyer on the first day.

I can't imagine anyone could do something that horrible to her.

I walked towards Alaina's room after smoking a cigarette.I don't know why I began to smoke just after I finally quit a month ago.

I sat beside her bed and began playing with her soft Black hair.I kissed her hand and rest my head down beside her face.

"Please wake up,Al!"I sighed drawing circles on her palm.

I kissed her cheeks and went to sleep on sofa.It was 11 in evening and soon I was asleep in the most uncomfortable position ever.

"ADAM!" Someone whisper-yelled."ADAM."I open my eyes and checked my watch.It was 2 in morning.

I looked around and jumped from couch as soon as I saw Alaina trying to sit.I rushed towards her in excitement."You are awake!"I exclaimed hugging her."Oww..."She cried.Oh Fuck!I totally forgot she was hurt."I am sorry!"

"Can you dim the lights?They are hurting my eyes."She groaned.I quickly switched off some lights.

"How are you?"I asked helping her sit up."I am fine."She said."How long have I been asleep for?"She asked arching her eyebrows.

"5 days."I answered."Those have been the longest 5 days ever."I added.She laughed in response.I missed her laugh so much!

"I will call the doctor."I declared.I was about to leave when Alaina grabbed my arm.I turned around and saw she was staring right back at me."Stay for a minute!Please."She said rubbing her eye with her another hand.

"Yeah."I said and sat beside her.I interwind her fingers with mine while she tightened her grip.She rest her forehead on my chest.

"W-What are M-my injuries?"She asked rubbing my hand with her thumb."Nothing you have to worry about!"I said looking down at her.She tilted her head up looking straight into my eyes.

Our faces were just a inch away.I just want to hold her forever like this.I want to lean down forward and kiss her lips.I want to be able to call her mine!

"I should call a doctor!"I said and left the room.I went to the front desk and asked about Dr. Sawyer.She told me the directions to his office.

I quickly made my way towards his office.I opened the door and declared,"She is awake!"

"Oh finally!But that's the odd time of waking up."He said humorously.She does have an odd time of waking up!I chuckled internally on the memory.

When we entered her room she was dozed of.She looked so peaceful when she sleeps.The doctor checked her vitals and told me that she would be fine.She just need some rest and proper medicines.After giving this information he left.

I kissed her forehead when suddenly she intertwined our hands."Could you stay?"She mumbled her eyes were still closed."of course."I said and got into the sheets beside her.

I pulled her closer carefully not trying to hurt her.I wrapped my arms around her body and buried my head into crook of her neck.She snuggled against my chest.Slowly I was drifting into sleep with her in my arms.
