CHAPTER 12

ALAINA'S POV

Things have been very awkward between Adam and me since our moment in the classroom. We almost freaking kiss?We just make small talk whenever we see each other.

In other news David went on a business trip for 20 days and Emily went on a vacation with her boyfriend, Charlie for who knows how long. I have never met him though. So now me and Riley are home alone. YAY!

"You're coming to Veronica's party." Kenzie said. "No! I am not going, I don't like parties." I groaned .

"I know," she said." That is why, my dear friend I am not asking you, I am telling you that you are coming to the party."

"Huh?!" I gasped. "Al! you are so screwed" Jace taunted me."What!"

"You are coming that's it."She said and walked out of the cafeteria. I looked over at Jace and he was smiling sympathetically at me.I scowled and rushed outside.

I bumped into a hard wall.Ugh..Why don't I see where I am running. I looked up and saw Adam smiling at me."I am sorry."I said.

"No problemAl although you should look where are you going."He grinned.

"I will keep that in mind."I smiled.

"I am so sorry Al."He pleaded."It was just a moment I got caught up in.It didn't mean anything.Please."

It sting when he said It didn't mean anything. It did mean something to me because I like him.Well now I know that how he feels.

"I already told you It's okay. Can we just pretend it didn't happen and go back to normal."I sighed.

He let out a sigh in relief and then wrapped his arms around me. I held him back and A smile crept onto my face.

He let go of me after few seconds.I internally scowled,missing his touch.

"See you at the party."He said and walked away.

It's just a stupid crush you will get over it.I said to myself and walked towards my next class.

When we reached to the party the first thing I noticed was that Veronica's house was freaking huge.

"So do you like it?"Kenzie asked beside me. Drunk and sweaty people dancing and throwing up are so enjoyable.Yay! note the sarcasm."Go have some fun Kenzie!I will be alright." I said.She nodded and disappeared in the crowd.

Kenzie have been very good friend to me. She dragged me to her house after school to get changed for the party.I decided on wearing a black lace top with a thin black jacket and blue ripped jeans.While Kenzie wore a black dress.

"Hey beautiful!care to dance."A drunken guy approached me."No!"I said."come on!" He grabbed my wrist with a tight grip."Let me go." I snarled. He didn't say anything and tightened his grip.

"Let her go!"A angry voice said.Adam.The guy throw his hands up in surrender and went away.He looked scared."Are you okay?"Adam asked.I nodded my head.

I looked at my wrist and it was bright red.I groaned and massaged it."You need to put ice on it. Come on!"He said.I followed him towards the kitchen.I hopped onto the kitchen counter while he grabbed the ice pack from refrigerator.

I looked at him carefully as he applies ice on my wrist."Thank you!"I murmured.He just gave me a smile.He was very gentle with my hand just like he is handling a baby.God his face is perfect.

Alaina snap out of it!

I looked behind him and saw Riley entering the kitchen.She was wearing a blue dress which hugged her waist perfectly.She was trying to walk but failing with every step.Oh my god she is drunk!

I jumped from my kitchen counter and put my hand around her waist."Riley!Why did you drink so much?"I groaned."No!I just-Oh my god.Ali don't turn around.Ivan is here."Huh?I turned around and Saw Ivan making out with a blonde on the couch.Oh Fuck!I have to get out of here.

"Who's Ivan?"Adam asked appearing beside me."Don't worry Ali,I will protect you from that dick."Oh no!Riley not here.I looked at Adam he was confused and slightly angry."She is just drunk!I should go home."I let out a awkward chuckle. "Come on Riley!"

"Do you need a ride?"Adam asked."No! We have a car,I will drive her home.Go enjoy!"
He nodded his head.I dragged Riley out to her car.She chuckled to herself and said"Your boyfriend is cute."God!Her mood swings."He is not my boyfriend!"He is cute though!

"Sure"She said and started humming.What does that mean?

In few minutes we reached our house.I tucked her in her bed."You are the best sister."She whispered in my ear."You are too!"I kissed her forehead as she snuggled in her sleep.

As I reached towards my room only one question came running through my mind.'What if Ivan saw me?'

I changed my cloths and fell on the bed, letting sleep take over me.
