CHAPTER 23

ALAINA'S POV

I opened my eyes and I came across a hard surface.I looked up and saw Adam sleeping beside me.My cheeks immediately heat up by the thought of him sleeping with me.

I checked the clock hanging at the wall and It was 5:30 in morning.I tried to wiggle myself out of his arms which caused him to tighten his arms around me.

"Adam!I have to pee."I said trying to get out of his hold.He just hummed in response but didn't let me go.

I smacked his arms causing him to groan.He let go of me as i quickly jumped out of bed.Pain shot through my stomach.I internally cursed myself.

I looked up at Adam and he was rubbing his eyes in most adorable way."You're mean."He whined.I replied with a laugh.

When I walked outside I saw Adam holding two cups of coffee in his hand."Morning."He mumbled and kiss my temple.

"You are in good mood."I mocked."Of course I am.Do you know how wrecked I was since I saw you that day."He shrugged.

"Hey I am okay now!Aren't I?!"I said hugging him."You should not have been hurt in first place."He mumbled.

I removed my hand from his waist but he didn't move.I looked up at him and he was staring right at me.He leaned a little forward.Just an inch and our lips will meet.He was about to lean further when someone cleared their throat.

I jumped away from him and saw Jace standing beside us.Well this Is awkward! "Al!"He tackled me into a hug."I missed you!"He said.

"I missed you too."I said hugging him back.He let go of me.I turned around and saw Adam.He had a blank expression.

"So where Is Riley and Kenzie?"I asked Jace."They are on there way!So when will you be discharged?"He asked.

"I don't know.I want to get out of here as soon as possible."I said and then the memories of that day came rushing into my mind.

"This is Alaina my step sister.She killed her father."He smirked.He knows my father is a very sensitive topic for me.

That girl's looked up at me."Oh so she is a fucking murderer."She said,Disgust evident in her tone.How can she say that?This is extreme.I cried as a smirk appeared on her face.

I have to tell him as soon as possible.I can't keep this huge thing from them.When I decided to tell Adam everything on the day before I was beaten ,Veronica happened and then I end up in this hospital.

"Alaina!"Riley screamed as soon as she saw me."Hey!"I replied as she ran towards me and hugged me."I missed you!"She whispered.I am so happy to have her in my life!

I looked around and saw Kenzie standing beside Jace with a huge smile.After Riley let go of me,Kenzie wrapped her arms around me.

We all talked for a bit.They left when they thought I should rest.I lay down on my bed and soon drifted into sleep.

Finally I have people who care about me!
