Peter gaped at the thing before him.
It was...a suit!...for him!
It was a new spiderman suit!
"Mr. Stark," Peter gaped, "I...I can't possibly ntake this! It's way too advanced - and expensive-"
"Hey, kid," Tony interrupted, "It's alright. I designed it specifically for you. The only one who would be able to use this suit is you! If you didn't take it, it would just go unused. Besides, what was Fury just saying about you getting a better suit?"
The man put his hands on his hips, looking down at Peter with a raised brow.
Peter sighed, "alright, Mr. Stark. I'll take it. But only so I can continue being spider man!"
Tony laughed, patting Peter's shoulder, "well then, let's teach you how to use it."
The suit fit perfectly. It was comfortable, warm, and looked totally badass (at least, that's what Peter thought).
Tony had showed him all the neat things about the suit; it had heating and cooling devices built in, it could dry him in seconds, it had some parachutes - it had everything.
"Alright, peter," tony said once they had finished going over the basic functions, "want to activate your one personal AI?"
Peter almost squealed, looking up at Tony in shock, "M-My own personal AI?"
Tony chuckled, "That's right, kid, I spent the past few weeks working on it-"
Tony's words became drowned out by the ringing in Peter's ears.
He had managed to hide his injuries from Tony the whole day so far, but now, the pain was becoming unbearable.
Peter felt himself losing consciousness, and he tried to reach out to grab Tony, but he lost consciousness too quickly.
He fell to the floor, Tony being too caught up on excitedly telling Peter about the AI, Karen, he had designed for the boy, that he didn't notice him falling until it was too late to catch him.
"Peter!" He yelled, immediately crouching down on the floor to check on the boy.
At first, he thought the boy had fainted out of excitement; but Tony quickly realized it was much more serious when he saw blood starting to stain the suit.
"Oh God, oh God," Tony yelled, "What have I done?"
He looked around the lab frantically, pressing on the spot where the blood was coming from, cradling Peter's head so it wasn't on the hard lab floor.
"Friday!" He called for the AI, "Get Bruce down here - immediately!"
The AI didn't respond, but Tony knew she heard him.
It didn't take long at all for Bruce to arrive, rushing into the lab and quickly over to Tony and Peter.
"What happened?" The doctor asked, "is this spiderman?"
"I don't know what happened! It must have been something in the suit!" Tony yelled, tears starting to spring up in his eyes.
Bruce gently pushed Tony to the side so he could examine the boy.
"Let's take him down to medical," he announced.
Once Tony and Bruce had gotten Peter to the medical part of the tower, Bruce began taking Peter's suit off, while some of the other doctors in that part of the tower stood to the side ready to assist.
Tony stood to the side anxiously.
"Tony," Bruce said, "This wasn't your fault."
"Yes it was!" The man shouted, "Something in his suit that I designed must have done this to h-"
"No," Bruce interrupted, "This literally wasn't your fault. It looks like the boy was shot. In multiple different places."
Tony blanched, snapping his head over to Peter, rushing to his side.
"Oh my God!" He yelled, "it must have been the school shooting!"
"He was in a school shooting?" Bruce asked.
Tony shook his head, "No, he stopped it."
Bruce looked impressed, looking down at the boy who was now being taken care of by the other doctors.
"Wow. How old is he?" Bruce asked, looking up at Tony.
"Fifteen," Tony muttered.
Bruce looked at Tony with wide eyes, "Spider man is a fifteen year old boy!" He yelled, "Tony, Fury has been looking for him for ages! So have we! And all along he's been a kid?"
Tony put his arms on Bruce's shoulders, trying to calm the man down so he wouldn't accidentally hulk out.
"I know, Bruce," He said softly, "but Peter is very courageous. He will make an amazing hero once I train him and everything. Besides, now he has a real suit."
Bruce nodded after a moment, looking at Tony, "Okay. I believe you. But we have to tell Fury he-"
"Fury knows. He's talked to Peter already."
Bruce nodded again, and the other doctors went back to work since they had finished efficiently paching up Peter, "Thanks for calming me down. The hulk is the last thing we need right now."
Tony smiled, shrugging, "Yeah, that would be embarrassing going out of this world because of a big green guy."
Bruce punched his arm, "you keep up those insults and that just may become your fate."
Tony laughed, but it was cut off by a small voice.
"Mr. Stark?"
Tony looked at Peter, walking briskly over to the bed he was laying in.
"Peter!" He yelled, "What the hell were you thinking? Why didn't you tell anyone you were injured!"
"I didn't think it would be a big deal to you; I was going to patch myself up once I got home-"
"What!" Tony yelled, "of course it's a big deal to me!"
Peter looked away from Mr. Stark, and then saw the other avenger who was in the room.
His face lit up, "You're Dr. Banner! Oh my God I'm such a huge fan of you!"
Bruce looked startled, as did Tony.
Bruce was smiling shyly, a blush apparent on his face.
Tony was definitely going to criticize him later.
"I- I am Dr. Banner!"
Suddenly, though, his face became sad, "Well, sorry the green guy isn't here right now-"
"No!" Peter said quickly, "I'm not talking about hulk! I'm a fan of you, Dr. Banner!"
Bruce looked shocked, but overjoyed.
"I've read all of your books, they're incredible! You're, like, a genius!"
Tony watched fondly as Peter fanboyed over Bruce, and he watched as Bruce blushed and thanked Peter with a beaming smile.
It's been too long since someone was a fan of Bruce, not the Hulk.
