Kiss Me

Chapter 19

I woke up screaming, drenched in sweat in my bed. Nick was there too. Why- oh, right, we were studying for the PSACT today. I thought with releif. "Wha-? Seqouia! Are you ok?!?" Nick said frantically. "Y-yeah, I'm okay. Just...just a nightmare. That's all." I said reassuringly. "Okay...well, i should go home now...since it's...morning, and your parents might find me in here..." Nick said akwardly. "Oooooohhhhh yeah...i guess you should go now." I answered back.

Nick got up from my bed and pushed open the window in my room that led to the roof and into my back yard (with no fence since it was a big yard that led into a forest),where there was a tree that he could climb down. But before he went, he quickly came over to me and said; "see ya at school" and kissed me. Right on the lips. Next thing i know, he's up and out the window, just like that. I was frozen in shock from the kiss, and momentarily forgot my nightmare. And i forgot about it completely when i got to school and saw Nick. For some reason, i...felt happy. Like, i actually liked the kiss. Oh no no no Seqouia! You can't fall in love again! No one can replace.....him. I thought, scolding myself.

"Hey Sequoia!!! You ready for the PSACT?" Nick asked me enthusiastically. "Yeah..." I answered, uncertain if i actually was ready. But...i did study pretty successfully last night. I eventually just settled with doing my best and if i failed, then try again. But if i passed, then GREAT!!!

Later that day, it was History class, and i was pumped for the test. I went onto the battlefield armed and energized, ready to face anything in my path.

2 hours later, i finished the test and came out of the battlefield beaten and bloodied, with an ounce of confidence and energy left. "C'mon Sequoia, lets go get lunch, my brave warrior." Nick said as we walked to the cafeteria with his arm draped over my shoulders. I smiled at his support, and rested my head on his shoulder while waiting in the lunch line. When Nick and i had finally got our lunches 20 minutes later, we sat down at an empty table and ate in silence. When i finshed eating my pizza, mandarin oranges, applesauce and gatorade, I put my head on the table and closed my eyes.

Immediately my dream came back to me;

It was a week before JR prom, and already 7 guys had asked me to go to them, but i said no. I had a boyfriend, but of course, they didn't care. Iwas in my room on Sunday, and i heard a rustling in the tree next to my balcony, so i got up from my bed and walked out to my window/door. It was spring, and it was 80° outside, so i was wearing jean shorts with a white taintop. When i went out on the balcony, i felt the light spring breeze and just stood there, taking in the sweet smell of spring. Then, before i know it, Aaron jumps out of the tree branch (that was pretty hidden from my view) and takes me in his arms, saying "Hey beautiful!". "Hi Aaron! What's with this, unexpected, but enjoyed visit?" I asked in a teasing voice. "Well, i was hoping...that you would come to the JR prom with me. If you already haven't said yes to the seven guys who asked you." Aaron said. "Wow, i didn't know you kept track!" I said, teasing him. "But yes, i would looove to go with you!" I said cheerfully. "YES!!" Aaron exclaimed, throwing his hands up in victory. Then, he turned to me, grabbing my waist, pulling me close to when our faces were inches apart. I had to look up in order to fully see his face because he was so tall. Then, he leaned down, pausing breifly with his lips lingering inches away from mine. I could smell his sweet breath and the longing coming off of him. Then, he pressed his lips against mine, soft and gentle at first, then roughly, full of want, before he stopped and looked sttaight in my eyes. I was breathless from the kiss, and took a moment to catch mg breath. I looked up into his choclate brown eyes, and was lost in thier depths.

"I love you, Sequoia Lee March." Said Aaron, smiling. "And i love you too, Aaron Allen Biser." I smiled back, laughing because he started tickling me.

I woke up to Nick rubbing my shoulder, and when i looked up int his eyes, they were full of concern. "What?" I asked, confused. "Sequoia, you were crying. And screaming. Are you okay?" He asked me, with worry thick on his voice. I looked around me, and everyone was staring at me. "Uh, i-i gotta go" i stuttered as i got up, almost tripping on my own feet as i ran out of the cafeteria. I needed to get away from there. I wanted to be anywhere but here.
