"Wh-what?" I cringed at the hurt in Sequoia's tone. "Yeah..." i said, looking down at my shoes. "When are you leaving?" "Next week. On Wednesday."

~~Sequoia~~
I couldn't beleive what I was hearing. "Why?" I asked, feeling a lump in my throat. "My parents wanted us to move back to Texas so we could be closer to family. And...i was the only one who didn't want to go. It was four to one." Evan said, not making eye contact.

I felt my eyes welling up with tears, but I pushed them down. "So...i guess you're leaving then." I said quietly.

~~Evan~~
I looked up finally, but i immediately regretted doing it. Sequoia's eyes were welling up, and she looked like she was going to cry. " Hey, hey. We still have the rest of today and tomorrow, and the weekend and two more days to spend with eachother." I said reassuringly.

~~Sequoia~~
I felt myself falling apart again when i heard that. "But that's not going to be enough." I said, my voice cracking, silent tears escaping my eyes. "Nothing will ever be enough." I said, turning away so Evan wouldn't see me crying.

~~Evan~~
I didn't know what to do. I knew that it would always end up with Sequoia getting hurt. I cared about her, and to see her hurt, especially by me, is the worst pain in the world. "Sequoia..." I whispered, while wrapping my arms around her, oblivious to the students staring. "I'm going to miss you so, so much." Sequoia said through her tears. I felt so much pain and grief that it was hard to breathe. "I'm going to miss you too." I managed to choke out through my own tears.

~~Sequoia~~
I pressed my head into Evan's chest, feeling my salty tears sliding down my cheeks, and soaking Evan's jacket. "Don't worry Sequoia. I'll always be here for you. No matter the distance." Evan whispered into my ear. "Thank you." I replied, my breath coming out in gasps as my sobs shook my body.

~~Evan~~
"No matter what happens, I'll be here for you." I said, holding Sequoia in my arms, her sobs shaking my body. I loved her like a sister. I meant what I said. I will always be here for her. No matter what.
