More than Friends

Alabama

"Oh my god! Cole!" I said sobbing. I put my head on his chest. He was crying too. His heart was pounding.

"Grace. Where are my parents?" He asked with a straight face.

"They got arrested Cole."

"They admitted to what they did?" he asked looking confused

"No. But, they told me what happened. And then the police asked me if I knew what happened and I had to tell the truth. I'm so sorry Cole. I did what I thought was best. I wasn't even thinking about the consequences for you."

He grabbed my face and kissed me. Then he hugged and right before he let go he whispered in my ear, "Thank you."

I whispered back. "I owe you. You saved me from Madison." Then someone walked into the room.

"Cole." it was John.

"I'll go get a nurse." By the time I got a nurse and went back Cole and John were already laughing about something. The nurse checked his vitals adn then she left.

"Cole. If your parents are in prison, who are you gonna live with?"

"Me." a voice said.

"Uncle Mack!" Cole exclaimed.

"We.re gonna go back to Alabama and me and Terry will take care of you."

"ALABAMA?" John and I said almost in unison.

He got out of the hospital a few days later. Then he had to pack his stuff and leave for Alabama.

"Do you really have to go?" I asked handing him shirts out of his closet

"I don't want to go anymore than you want me to. I wanna stay here." he sat on the bed, "I have to leave my house, my bed, my friends, Jack, and you. I'm gonna miss you so much." he hugged me adn we squeezed each other as tight as we could. We were both crying.

"I love you so much Cole. You have to visit all the time! Promise me!"

"I promise."

"Cole ! It's time to go!" His uncle yelled up.

"NO!" I shouted. I was sobbing harder than I've ever sobbed," You're the only person I can talk to. I need you here with me. Who am gonna talk to at school? Who am I gonna call at 3 in the morning for no reason other than to hear your voice?" You can't leave! I need you." I hugged him so tight I probably could've broken some of his ribs.

"I'm sorry Grace. I love you so much. I don't want to leave. I want to be here with you." Cole said.

"Then don't go." I whispered still crying.

"COLE! LET'S GO!" His uncle yelled up again, sounding annoyed.

"Grace. I'm sorry." Cole said. He grabbed my face and kissed me,"Let's go." he grabbed my head and pulled me downstairs. My parents followed us to the airport.

"I'll love forever and ever Grace. I'm sorry." He was crying. He grabbed my face one last time and kissed me. We hugged for what felt like seconds but was actually 5 minutes.

"Let's go Cole." His uncle said. He grabbed his arm and pulled him away from me.

"Goodbye Grace!" He shouted.

"Goodbye Cole! I love you!" I looked at him one last time until he went through security and then he vanished.
