"Mom!" I said as I screamed bloody murder.
"Oh my god! Baby what's wrong?!"
I explained how Cole was in a coma and she hugged me and grabbed the keys.
"Come on let's go to the hospital!"
She drove as fast as the speed limit aloud. Then we went up to Cole's room.
"Honey? I'm gonna wait outside the door way so that you guys have some privacy."
I walked in and I about screamed. He was unrecognizable. His face was bruised and scratched and his arm was bady cut. His parents walked over to me. They barely had a scratch.
"He was sleeping in the backseat. We pulled the car over because we had a flat tire. We decided to go down to the store about a mile away. Apparently a white van went out of control and ran right into the car. It flipped over and rolled down the hill. The white van burst into flames. Debris flew everywhere. Cop cars, an ambulance,and a fire truck all came. They put him in the ambulance but we couldn't ride with him. We obviously told them a different story so if they ask you if you know what happened say you don't know!"
"You lied to the police?"
"Yes! Otherwise we'd be arrested for child negligence!"
"Look can I have some privacy please?"
They left the room with out saying another word.
Baby" I said walking over to his bed," Baby. Wake up! Please! I love you. I can't be on this Earth without you. They say when the body goes through something like it's the soul's decision of whether to live or whether to die. I don't want you to die. I can't imagine not waking up to your good morning texts. Not waking up to our song in the morning as my alarm. Not having you by my side. To quote our song. 'oh won't you stay with me. Cause your all I need.' I don't need anyone else I need you!" I started crying.
"Grace? it's time for his surgery." The nurse said," the cops want to speak with you while he's in surgery."
A few other nurses come in and wheeled him to the operating room.
