Jewel's POV
Thank goodness I wore shorts under my sweat pants, other wise I would be sweating my ass off right about now. I've been doing a series of workouts for the past hour now. Nobody has come in here, which is nice yet totally weird. Young Dauntless kids usually love coming in here and pretending to go through initiation.
Beads of sweat roll down my nose while I do push-ups, creating a pool of liquid under me on the black mat.
"You should drink something."
The sound of the voice scares me and I lose my stance. I wince as I hit my injured arm on the ground. Eric steps up on the mat with me. His sleeveless vest is unbuttoned, showing the center of his chest. My cheeks blush at the sight.
"You have to keep yourself hydrated, other wise you'll pass out." His words don't even register in my brain. All I can think about is how bad my arm is hurting right now. I clutch it to my chest. Eric steps closer, bending down, he reaches for me. "Let me see it."
I pull away as his finger tips barely brush my skin. "Don't." I say, childishly.
He rolls his eyes and grabs for me again, this time locking his fingers around my forearm. He's gentle, which surprises me but his tone is stern and somewhat irritated. "You've probably fractured it." He says, running his fingers over the bone.
Goosebumps raise along my skin. I watch him. If I didn't know him, I might think that he's a nice guy who just likes to follow the rules, but that's not the case. He isn't a nice guy.
His eyes meet mine, making me blush again. "You need to go to the infirmary and have this looked at."
"Why are you so concerned?" I say, irritably. Not meaning to.
His hand drops. His serious face back. "Go to the infirmary. Now."
Standing, I say stupidly, "And if I don't?" Eric stands with me. A smirk hiding at the corners of his lips. "If you don't, I'll take you....By force. You won't enjoy it."
My heart skips a beat. "Are you threatening me?"
He steps closer. His eyes slide down my head all along my body and back up to my face. "I don't think I have to threaten you, Amity."
