Eric's POV
When I knock on Jewel's door and she doesn't answer, it surprises me. Where could she be? I pace the hallway for a couple of minutes, waiting to see if she will turn up.
I have a leader's meeting in about 20 minutes but I wanted to tell her to wait up for me. I walk down into the pit and look around, searching for those penetrating green eyes, but nothing. She's nowhere.
I don't know her well enough to know where she would be at such a late hour but for some reason, I'm pulled to the exit doors. My feet move swiftly under me and when I walk out, I see Four. Strange.
"Four! What are you doing?" I yell at him. He glances at me briefly before turning back to the entrance to the train platform and I follow his gaze. Long brown hair sways in the distance. Jewel.
What was is she doing? Why was she with Four?
He approaches me now, seemingly out of breath. I stare him down in utter disgust. "Who was that?"
"Who?" He says, confused, trying to play dumb. I step closer to him, sizing him up.
"Don't fuckin play games with me, Four." His fists clench together at his sides and I know he's holding something back.
I place my hands behind my back, raising my chin to him. "I'm not going to ask you again." He glares at me with contempt.
"It's none of your concern, Eric." Who the fuck does he think he is? He may have topped first in his class but I'm leader now. I shove him as hard as possible, making him stumble back but not falling.
"Where is she?" I growl at him. Before he can retaliate, I punch him in the jaw, this time making him lose his footing altogether. He falls but I grab him by the collar and bring him up to my face.
"Where is she?!" My voice becoming louder now. He kicks me hard on my right shin, which makes me lose my grip momentarily. Four stands quickly and his elbow connects to the left side of my jaw. I grimace at the sudden pain but don't back down to him.
"Leave it alone." His breaths are heavy, as are mine and it reminds me that neither of us have done this in some time. He begins to walk away but I have one last trick.
I wrap my forearm around the front of his neck and yank him back. Using my free hand, I punch as hard as I can to his lower back, near his kidneys. He winces in pain and falls to his knees. I kick him in the same exact spot again but pull him up so that my face is next to his.
"Tell me where she went, Four."

Jewel's POV
The pounding heart in my chest finally subsides after a few long moments of silence on the train. I hope that Four is okay. He's one of the toughest Dauntless but Eric can be ruthless.
The train ride to Amity is about 45 minutes of wide open fields. The sound of wind and crickets is calming and it reminds me of what my childhood was like before I came to Dauntless. Sometimes I can't remember why I left this beautiful place.
A small flame of light peeks through the trees and I know my jumping off point is nearing. I rest my feet slightly over the edge of the open carriage door and wait for a soft patch of grass to arrive.
Once I see it, I leap out and land on my knees. The grass is damp and cool. I press my palms into it, savoring the moment. It's been so long since I've felt nature. Dauntless is so closed off compared to this.
I look around cautiously, my eyes focusing on the beam of light up ahead. The flame must still be burning from a light night dinner. I miss cooking around a camp fire. I miss so much about this place. As I stand and start walking through the under brush, a strange feeling rises in my chest.
I do remember why I left. To get away. To get away from him. I never told anyone about what happened. I think because I wanted so badly for it not be real but it was. Me denying it never helped, only made it worse, honestly.
As I near the sleeping quarters, a gaping whole begins to form in the pit of my stomach. I remember everything. Everything that he did to me. I wasn't safe. That's why I left.
Sleeping children are sprawled across the mattress on the sawdust floor and I smile. I used to be one of them. I step quietly past them and make my way to the single bunks. My mother had her own private section, hopefully that is still so.
I step over a few more sleeping bodies till I see a sliding barn door. It easily glides open and I step through. This part has individual cubies on either side, all lined with a sheet, the only form of privacy. Nobody seems to be up. My steps seem to become louder as I walk and I try my best to slow my pace.
I can't remember exactly which cuby whole is my mom's. Nothing seems familiar anymore and a nervous tick starts to form in my ears. But then I see it. A bright yellow sheet with sunflowers stitched in it. Just when my fingers brush the material, a hand rests on my shoulder.
"Jewel, what a surprise to see you here at such a late hour." The voice makes my blood run cold.
No.
So I got a few requests for an Eric and Four fight. I tried my best. I find it difficult to write in Eric's POV so I hope everyone liked it. Who just got Jewel?? Thoughts????? Comment and Vote!
