The start of the season was a success. We won our first couple games, beating the likes of Everton and Leicester City. When Kristie debuted against Everton, the Arsenal crowd erupted. All english fans love when Americans play in their league as the American style is highly entertaining.

I started the game, alongside Viv, Caitlin, Jordan, Beth, Leah, Lia, Jen, Manu, Katie, and Kim. It was so weird not to have Jill play with me anymore. She was in Wolfsburg, with her new team and I was here. With Arsenal.

It still didn't feel real that I couldn't just pick up my phone to message her or call her. It felt like a nightmare. I was no longer with my person.

Kristie didn't start the match against Everton, but as the game was tightly contested and we were only up by 1 at half time, she subbed in for Jordan. When she entered the pitch, the crowd cheered and so did I. A smile became imprinted on my face, allowing myself to be happy that I was playing with my best friend again.

When Kristie came on, it was fluent. Our connection never died, and we linked so well. I knew when she was going to make a run, and she knew when to cover my player so I could intercept a pass. We worked effortlessly together.

By the 54th minute, we had a break. I passed it from half way, into space in front and Kristie ran to it. She ended up dribbling the ball, and hitting it with her left foot when in the 18 yard box. She slid it past the goalkeeper and into the net. She had her first goal. Her first Arsenal goal.

We all ran up to her and jumped, so ecstatic that she had scored on her debut. After the other girls went back to restart play, I grabbed her hand and squeezed it, then ran off.

After the Everton match, I went up to Kristie and embraced her in a long hug.
"You were great," I said, whispering in her ear. She pulled me in tighter, while we stood in the middle of the pitch. We both then went over to Sam who was in the stands. She had already played her game that weekend, beating Aston Villa by three, with herself scoring a brace.

"Babe," Sam said, pulling Kristie into a hug, "you were great!" She kissed her softly, before turning and hugging me also.
"I'm just glad we won," Kristie responded.
"Me too." I was relieved we had won, as it was a tight game.

After the game, a photographer sent me a picture they took of me and Kristie hugging on the field. I reposted it on my Instagram.

indiharrison: A win for @arsenalwfc and a debut goal for @kmewis19? Yes please

Kmewis19: an assist from @indiharrison? yes pls

I also saw a lot of pictures from the match of Kristie and I and then Sam at the end. The compilation was extensive. The first picture was of me clapping when Kristie came on. The second was of me jumping on the pile of bodies when Kristie scored. The third was of Kristie holding my hand and squeezing it after she had scored. The fourth was of Kristie taking a corner and her telling me to move more to the right. The fifth was after the game and of us standing in the middle of the field. The sixth was of Sam, Kristie and I talking after the match. The seventh was of Sam and Kristie kissing after the match. In that picture, you can see me in the background. The last was of Sam and me hugging.
