Stella's P.O.V

The night of the dinner with Jasper's family came by quicker than I expected. The past two days were nerve-wracking as they came closer and closer.

I felt like Cinderella when Jasper hired a hairstylist and makeup artist for his family's dinner. Better yet, I felt like I was back in high school getting ready for the prom. Jasper had given me money to get my nails done and told me that I could bring Daisy along so I wouldn't be lonely. She almost questioned it but luckily I strayed her away.

Gwen told the makeup artist and hairstylist what style to do on me and they did it like the pros they were. I sat on the chair and did exactly what they asked me to do to get the look right.

"Are you nervous?" Gwen asked me as she leaned against the bathroom counter.

"Kinda."

"You'll be fine. Since you did great during the etiquette lessons, it should be a piece of cake," Gwen told me.

"Have you ever met his family before?" I asked.

"Here and there. They know me as Jasper's assistant and they've never been mean before. At least not to me. Don't worry, his mother is nice so if you can befriend her, you should be fine," Gwen told me.

"Got it."

"Jasper will introduce you to his family and let you get to know them a little better but I will break down the basics again."

"Okay."

"Jasper has a younger brother and two twin sisters. His brother owns a successful construction company who flips houses and creates buildings. Jasper and his brother sometimes collaborate. His two younger sisters are models. They are slightly taller than you. Then there are his parents. His father is a chairman in Jasper's company since it was handed down to him and his mother is a socialite from a wealthy family who has helped create this country since World War II. They currently live mainly in Massachussettes but, they're staying in California for the summer for vacation," Gwen said.

"No pressure or anything," I tried to joke.

"You'll do great. Given your ambition to finish college and not rely too much on Jasper will impress them. Trust me." Gwen smiled.

"Okay. I think I'm ready," I tell her.

"Good. Now, Jasper is waiting for you downstairs. He will drive you both over to his parent's house and he will drop you off at your apartment afterward," Gwen explained.

"Is it possible to get dressed in my pajamas here? I don't want to freak out my best friend with this dress," I tell her.

"Yeah. There shouldn't be an issue with that."

"Thank you."

"Jasper's waiting now. Let's go," Gwen told me before guiding me downstairs. I looked over at Jasper who was looking down at his phone.

"She's ready," Gwen said to Jasper. I smiled softly at Jasper the moment he looked at me. I blushed a little as he stared with wide eyes.

"Do I look okay?" I asked him.

"You look beautiful," Jasper told me. I could feel my cheeks heat up more, making me look away.

"Okay. No need to keep your family waiting. Get in the car and go," Gwen said, shooing us out.

"Right. Shall we?" Jasper asked as he held his arm out a little. I nodded before holding onto him.

We walked over to his car outside. Jasper opened the door for me before helping me in. I made sure my dress wasn't caught from the door as Jasper closed the door. I waved over at Gwen as Jasper got into the driver's seat.
