Stella's P.O.V

I woke up in a jolt the moment I heard my alarm. You expect to get used to alarms but no. I still get anxiety from it and it sucks. I got out of bed before walking out of my room.

"Happy birthday, Stella!" My best friend, Daisy, enthusiastically said. I was a little shocked that she was awake this early. Normally, I would be the one to wake up first.

"Thanks, Daisy," I smiled at her.

"I made waffles," Daisy told me before handing me a plate. I had just noticed the fruit, whipped cream, chocolate chips, and syrup out.

"Oh cool. Thanks," I smiled.

"No problem. The girls said that they will be here at eleven to pick us up," Daisy mentioned. I looked over at the clock. It was only 8:04 now. There was still time for breakfast and to get ready.

"Okay."

"Any text messages from your family?" Daisy asked.

"No because of the time difference and the fact they aren't going to pay for any international service. But they want to take me out to dinner or lunch once they come back from their vacation," I tell her.

"That's good."

"Plus my mom said she'd rather get some things from Europe rather than from here for my birthday."

"That's cool. The scrambled eggs are almost done by the way," Daisy told me.

After we both ate breakfast together, we quickly got ready for the trip to Vegas. Since we were only going to be there for three days, we packed light luggage.

Back in high school, my group of friends and I made a promise to one another. Once all of us turned twenty-one, we would go to Vegas and enjoy a weekend together. And since I was the youngest, we were going to celebrate my birthday over there. However, before my birthday, we had a falling out with one of our friends so our group sized down a little.

"I'm still jealous that your birthday is in the summer," Daisy said.

"Thank my parents for that," I tell her.

"What do you want to do first when we get there? Go to the pool? Go shopping? Go have drinks?"

"I think we should explore. Relax a little before we go out and get wasted," I tell her.

"Okay. Well, if you change your mind, just say the word."

Both of our phones let out a ding. We checked our phones to see a text in our group chat that our friends were downstairs waiting for us.

"Are we forgetting anything?" Daisy asked me.

"I have the Tylenol, some water bottles, sunscreen in my purse. We have our luggage. I think we're good," I tell her.

"Cool. Oh, hold on!" Daisy said before rushing into her room quickly. She brought back a Party City, birthday girl sash. I laughed a little as she handed it over to me.

"So everyone knows you're the birthday girl," Daisy winked.

"I'm surprised you don't have a crown," I joked.

"I'm pretty sure Maple has it," Daisy joked again.

"Alright. Let's go. Can't let the girls wait too long," I tell Daisy.

"Happy birthday, Stella!" I smiled happily as I saw our friends standing by the car.

There was Sarah. The mom of the group. She was great at planning an event and was the smartest in the group. Then there was Maple. She was one of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet. However, she can be a little naïve sometimes. And lastly, there was Effie. She was a bit of a nerd but we love her. She was also the friendliest person you'll ever meet.

"Aw, thanks," I said before hugging each of them.

"You two ready to go?" Sarah asked us.

"Yeah."

"Before I forget," Maple said before putting a birthday crown on my head.

"Thanks," I smiled with a small laugh.

"Nice pick of the car, Sarah," Daisy acknowledged on the rental car.

"Thanks. Carson helped pick it out," Sarah smiled. Carson was her boyfriend who worked as a mechanic. Luckily, we can go to him to get our cars fixed for a discounted price.

"Shall we then? I have snacks and a movie ready for the drive," Effie said.

"Alright. Let us put our bags in the trunk," I tell her.

We all piled inside the car once everything was set up. I sat in the front with Sarah as she drove off.

The four-hour drive was long. Thank God we lived in Southern California so we could just drive over there. Once we got to the hotel and checked in, we went straight to our rooms. Our rooms were connected so we didn't need to be too separated. I stayed in a room with Daisy since we already had lived together. I lied on my bed while Daisy checked out the room.

"The view is so nice," Daisy told me. I sat up to look out the window. The view of the Las Vegas strip was in view which was amazing to look at.

"It is."

"So you still wanna walk around?" Daisy asked.

"Yes. We've been in that car for more than four hours. We should stretch our legs," I tell her.

"Okay. Let's go get the girls and we can maybe gamble or eat," Daisy told me.

"I like that idea," I smiled.

After we all ate and walked around, we went back to our rooms to get ready to go out to the clubs. I put on a tight red dress and black heels. I curled my hair a little before putting on some makeup. I smiled at myself in the mirror before walking out. I grabbed my small clutch that held my ID, money, and phone.

"We should take a selfie. We look hot," Effie told us.

"I agree," I said as I took out my phone.

We took some cute photos together before we walked out of the rooms. There was a club nearby that was within walking distance. Once we got in, I looked around at all the people dancing and drinking. I could feel the bass of the music vibrate my body due to how loud it was.

"Let's get some drinks!" Maple shouted over the noise. We headed over to the bar before getting some drinks for us.

"To Stella's 21st birthday!" Daisy cheered before wrapping an arm around me.

"Happy birthday, Stella!" The girls cheered before we all took a sip of our drinks. My face scrunched up a little due to the taste.

"You get used to it," Effie laughed at my face. I smiled and laughed as well.

"I think I want to try another drink," I tell her.

"Go do it! It's your night out!" Daisy said.

"Yeah. Let's loosen up. Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!" Maple laughed.
