Stella's P.O.V
"Oh my gosh! What am I going to tell my friends and family?" I said out loud. I had realized that they would be worried about me if I had married someone less that a year together. Hell less than a week.
"Tell them that we have been secretly dating for a while," Jasper told me.
"My friends saw you at the pool in Vegas. Remember? Plus my parents have always met my boyfriends in the past," I mentioned.
"Then tell them that I needed to keep our relationship a secret," Jasper told me.
"Then what? What if they don't believe us?" I asked.
"We will figure it out. It'll be okay, Stella. I promise," Jasper assured. I stared at Jasper for a little before nodding.
"Okay."
"It's a nice day. What do you say on going on a walk together?" Jasper asked me.
"Really? It's pretty hot outside."
It was no joke. California heat was something that was dreadful in the summer. I heard Texas and Arizona heat was just as bad or even worse.
"We can stroll around the beach. If you don't mind," Jasper said.
"That sounds nice."
"Great."
After lunch, Jasper drove off to a beach that was empty. There was another car that followed us here but Jasper told me that it was just his assistant and bodyguards.
"Let's take a walk on the pier. I'd like to know my wife a little more," Jasper smiled.
"Okay."
Jasper got out of the car quickly before opening my door. I felt the heat rise to my cheeks a little before I got out of the car. We headed over to the pier where there were a few men fishing. It seemed to be a secluded beach since there was no paparazzi anywhere.
"So, Stella. Tell me about yourself," Jasper said as we walked.
"What do you want to know?" I asked.
"Your family, your major, your interests, your dislikes, everything."
"Well, I'm the oldest of three kids. I moved out for college since I wanted to have my own space but my best friend is my roommate. I am currently majoring in English because I want to become an English teacher. I like traveling and reading," I tell Jasper.
"Where do you want to travel to?" Jasper asked.
"I've always wanted to go to Japan. They have beautiful gardens, a lot of things to do, and I want to check out their Disneyland," I smiled.
"You like Disney?"
"I do. I'm not like those people who makes Disney their personality but I do like it. I've always appreciated their art and I don't care how old I am, they still make me feel like I'm a kid. I've always wanted to go to all the Disneylands just to see what it's like since they have rides we don't and their rides are somewhat different than ours," I tell him.
"Maybe I can take you there," Jasper smiled at me.
"I don't want you spending all that money on me."
"It's no problem, Stella."
"Well, what about you?" I asked as I looked up at him. "Who really is Jasper Kline?"
Jasper chuckled at my dramatically asked question.
"Well, just like you, I am the oldest but of four kids. I have a bachelor's in business already. I inherited the company from my father but I created the hotel line. And I like to enjoy my time when I'm not working by just being at home or with a few friends."
"What is one thing you like to do?"
"I enjoy reading a good book at times. I like to take my mother out whenever my father can't."
"Oh, mamma's boy?" I teased.
"You can say that," Jasper laughed.
"It's adorable. No need to feel embarrassed," I tell him.
"She's been there for me and my siblings so the least I can do is to treat her out once in a while."
"That's really sweet of you to be honest," I tell him.
We made it towards the end of the pier which was pretty much empty. I leaned over the railing a little to look at the ocean.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" I asked, not looking at Jasper as I was too memorized by the ocean reflecting the sunlight.
"Yeah. It is."
I looked back over at Jasper who was staring at me. I smiled softly at him before looking back at the ocean. I took out my phone and checked the time.
"I should be heading back now. I have work tomorrow," I frowned.
"Okay."
As we head back to the car, I saw that Jasper's assistant and bodyguards getting ready to leave as well.
"Um, Jasper."
"Yes?"
"Will I also get bodyguards when we become official?" I asked him.
"Yes. Just for your own protection. I'll only assign one to you to make you comfortable. I can always hire two if you'd like," Jasper told me.
"I'll start off with one. I would like to get used to all this."
"I'm sorry to overwhelm you. I want to take it slow for you."
"It's fine. I'll get used to it eventually."
"I'm glad to hear that. Just let me know when it gets a little too much. We'll go back to taking it slow okay?"
"Okay."
