"Kaz wants us," Wylan said.

Together, we make our way to the main area. Colm was nowhere to be found. Not sure if that was Kaz's reasoning or Jesper's. Not sure it would actually matter.

Once everyone was seated, Kaz stood and started whatever he wanted.

"We're going to turn Kuwei over," he says.

"Excuse me?" Nina asks. "We all did not go through all this trouble just to let Kuwei waltz out of here."

"Would you listen before interrupting?" Kaz waits for everyone to settle down. "Kuwei is Grisha. Grisha gets sold as indentured. We set up an auction."

"That's handing him over, Kaz," Jesper said.

Everyone starts talking over each other. All having their own ideas for what Kaz is trying to plan.

"You want us to sell Kuwei without actually selling Kuwei?" I ask through the conversations.

"Why would I give away my biggest investment?" Kaz asks.

"I don't understand half the things you do, shimkopper."

"Wylan," Kaz stated without looking twice at me. He goes into a long explanation on why his job is one of the important ones before explaining his and Matthias's job for this "heist".

"Jesper," Kaz continues without letting anyone interrupt. He's the one who has to shoot Kuwei when the time comes.

"Nina." Of course Nina gets one of the cooler jobs. Making the city think there's an outbreak. That sounds like fun.

"Inej." It's not surprising that Inej is one to keep watch over the auction. She's the only one to not get caught by anyone. Well besides that one person from the silos.

"Everyone understand what is expected?" Kaz asks.

"What am I supposed to do?" I ask.

"Make sure everyone gets everywhere on time. We can't afford a minute off."

"You're kidding me. Everyone else has some amazing job and I get watch duty?"

"You should be used to it, unless you screw it up somehow."

The way Kaz emphasized the sentence sent a chill down my spine. He definitely knows more about my capture than he is letting on. He has known since we left the Ice Court.

"I hate you," I said.

"Don't we all?" Kaz said, his gaze not leaving mine. "Everyone understands what's expected of them?" No one dared dispute his question, which was mostly a statement. "Good."

Kaz excuses us all. We have our posts, it's up to us to make it better. Run through everything to make sure it runs smoothly.

"Nox," Kaz stops me. "There are Fjerdan's all over the city. They are looking for Matthias and you. Don't get caught and ruin our mission."

With that, Kaz Brekker walked off. Leaving me alone to comprehend the information. They are looking for me?

Is it for the King? Is it because they want to follow through with an execution this time? Break my soul more than they already have?

I tried to act as if nothing was wrong. That everything going on with the auction will go perfectly. But learning Fjerdan's are in Ketterdam has make me weak.

All I could do was cry.
