Alice was excited. Her excitement was so loud to Jasper that it almost completely covered every other emotion he was feeling in the busy classroom. Almost.

The new girl had been glancing at the pair quite often since they had sat down in the seats across the aisle from her. Alice was sat on the end, right next to the beautiful human, and Jasper was next to the window. He gazed out of it most of the class period, but could feel the mortal's eyes on him often. His hand held Alice's tightly as he controlled himself around so many humans, and he knew she noticed. He wondered if she thought them strange, like so many other humans do. To the outside world, they're an adopted family. To them, they are a coven that protects and loves each other in different ways.

"-partners. You'll be in groups of two or three, depending on who you wish to work with." Jasper snapped his head around to face the teacher, feeling Alice's excitement grow into anticipation and anxiety. He calms her without thinking about it; it was instinct, really, to soothe her worries with his gift. He was curious as to why she was anxious when he knew it would be them working together, and got his answer when the humans all jumped from their seats to race to find partners – all except Persephone.

"Hi! Would you like to work with us?" Alice chirps, leaning on the edge of her seat towards the new girl. "I'm Alice! This is Jasper." Alice gestures to Jasper and he nods politely in Persephone's direction.

"Hello," his voice is quiet, cautious. He doesn't fully understand why Alice is doing this but, as always, puts his trust in his beloved and her visions.

"I'm Persephone." The vision plays out in her head as the girl speaks to them, and Alice smiles brightly.

"The Goddess of Spring." Alice replied, smiling softly. The girl smiled mischievously. Just like the vision.

"And Queen of the Underworld," She winked playfully and Alice understood why she believed she would be blushing, the human's charm was attractive. Jasper could feel Alice's fondness, and tilted his head at Persephone, deciding that he would pay her more attention. Surprisingly, her blood had no effect on him. Due to Alice's interest in the girl or something else, he didn't know.

"So, will you work with us?" Jasper caught Alice off guard by speaking directly to the human, and it seems Persephone shared her shock. The human thought his southern accent was endearing, and smiled at the boy.

"Yes, of course. Thank you for asking me to join you both." She subconsciously leaned towards the pair, giving them both a clear view of her neck as she moves her hair away from her face. The couple have no reaction. It's almost as if the God's themselves have marked this human as loved by the two, and make her blood unattractive to the couple. Alice almost laughs aloud at the thought, realising their situation was the exact opposite of Edward's. Her poor brother was in love with a human whose blood calls to him, while she and her partner were going to fall in love with a human whose blood had absolutely no effect on them.

A vision came to Alice just then. She leaned her shoulder against Jaspers subtlety as a way to let him know, and his all attention refocused on her.

Rosalie was staring at Persephone with a strange look, head tilted as she looked the human up and down. She made eye contact with Alice and slowly shook her head.

"Nothing."

Alice smiled. Persephone noticed all their small movements, but pretended not to. She had heard earlier that they were a couple and, despite her attraction to the pair, was not keen on getting in the middle of their romance. They were adorable together from what she had seen, and she was content watching them interact as the lovebirds they were.

Edward, who had been listening to Persephone's thoughts all day from his own classrooms – as he shared none with the human – laughed quietly to himself. Emmett gave him a strange look, but decided to ask later; though he still called his brother names mentally, of course.
