The Cullens didn't celebrate holidays.

They had lived through so many, celebrated every holiday from every culture so many times they lost interest. It's not as if they worshipped any specific gods or had any religious beliefs – they had seen what happened after death, and it wasn't worth worshipping, in their opinion.

However, Alice and Jasper had decided that Christmas had a sudden appeal. Not for the religious reasons, but simply that they could spoil their beloved without her chastising them too much.

Seeing Persephone's shirt rise above her hips as she stretches to put an ornament on the tree Alice bought her is another bonus.

"Let me help, love." Alice says, placing a hand on the human's waist and lightly tracing her outreached arm. She grabs the ornament and hangs it on the branch Persephone was trying to reach, placing a soft kiss on her head as she does so. "Perfect."

"Thank you." Persephone says, cheeks burning a soft pink in the colourful glow of the tree's lights. Jasper had asked if she wanted white lights to which Persephone frowned before explaining that no, she did not want white lights, and promptly scoffing at every box of said white lights that she saw. Apparently, they were too plain. Her foster family had only allowed wacky colours during the holidays — sweaters of all colours were passed around and worn during special days. It was a tradition that she didn't fully understand, but had grown on her in the time she spent with them.

In fact, she sent them a very colourful, bright card for the holidays; they sent one in return, with a very bright, tacky sweater in tow. Persephone is wearing said bright, tacky sweater currently. Much to the vampire's appreciation, it's very soft.

On Christmas Eve, she wore it again as her, Alice, and Jasper sit by a fire that Alice had built in Persephone's backyard. Persephone was curled in Jasper's lap with a blanket on her shoulders and steaming cocoa in a mug held tightly between her hands. Alice was humming along to the Christmas music that played on an old radio Persephone had dragged out of a box that she had yet to unpack. The moon shone brightly on them, gleaming stars reflected in all their eyes as the day came to a close.

"Would you like to dance?" Jasper's breath brushes against Persephone's ear, sending a shiver down her spine. Alice overhears and settles on the ground next to the radio as she turns it up slightly, giving an encouraging smile to their girlfriend. Persephone places her cocoa next to Alice before standing. When Jasper follows suit, she places the blanket in the chair they previously occupied and takes his cold hand in her own. The snow on the ground barely covers the grass entirely but still crunches beneath their feet as they move.

Jasper's hands rest on Persephone's waist as her own comfortable sit on his shoulders. As they sway along to the Christmas song playing, a smile blossoms on both of their face's. Alice watches fondly and recalls seeing this, before.

Persephone and Jasper dancing in a field at night. The stars are twinkling and an old radio sits next to Alice, playing soft music. After a while of him twirling her around, Persephone pulls away and runs to Alice, pulling the vampire up off the ground.

"Your turn." Her cheeks are flushed with happiness and her eyes seem to hold more stars than the sky. She is so beautiful that Alice cannot help but kiss her as they dance, feeling Jasper's eyes fondly watching them move across the space.

The present and vision overlap as the song comes to an end and Persephone stands before Alice, hand outstretched and eyes twinkling. Cold puffs of air escape her lips.

Alice takes the hand and pulls herself up, grabbing the blanket from the chair with her free hand as she does so. She places it on Persephone's shoulders and moves to sway with the next song. As in the vision, she can't help herself from placing a sweet kiss on Persephone's lips. As Jasper watches his dearest people dance, the clock inside the house chimes midnight.

And so, the lovers bring in their first holiday together with happiness, love, and dancing.
