Shopping had never appealed to Jasper like it did to Alice. However, spending time with Persephone was something he had come to crave recently – he needed to see her, or else he would feel as if part of him were missing for the entire day.
So, Jasper was shopping.
He was happily watching Alice and Persephone try on different dresses, modelling them to each other and then to him. He would give out compliments to both of them, and found himself enjoying the time spent looking at different clothes. When Alice found her dress, she sat on the loveseat next to Jasper and curled into his side. He took her hand and kissed her forehead.
"You look beautiful today, darlin'." He whispered, but Persephone heard. Her heart fluttered from the endearment, and she grew frustrated with herself. She refused to admit that she had a crush on not one, but two taken people. To make it even more embarrassing, they were dating each other and very, very out of her league. It was mortifying to be around them, because she constantly found herself flustered and guilty at the sadness she felt.
It wasn't sadness towards either one of them – no, she was fond of their affection towards each other. In fact, a large reason her feelings have grown is because of how the couple acts to one another. Deep down, she wishes she could be involved in their relationship. She wants both of them – to kiss Alice, and hold Jasper's hand. She wants to fondly watch as Jasper pets Alice's hair, or as Alice kisses Jasper sweetly without feeling as if she's intruding. No, she wants to be involved in those moments.
"Persephone, love?" Alice calls from the other side of the curtain. Persephone paints a smile on her face, but both vampires had already caught onto her distress. Jasper was trying to use his gift to soothe her and had warned Alice, so they both stood right outside the dressing room.
"Voilà." She said, slinging the curtain away. Alice saw her vision clearly as she stared at the human.
Persephone was dressed in a black gown that hugged her figure down to her waist, where it became loose to fall around her legs. There was a high slit on it, exposing the soft skin of her thigh anytime she moved. The girl smiled at Alice, who stared at her in awe.
"You look," Jasper paused, feeling so many emotions building in his chest that he couldn't form words. He squeezed Alice's hand to prevent himself from reaching for Persephone. "Beautiful, darlin'. Absolutely breathtaking." The endearment slipped from his lips before he could think about it, and Alice grinned slyly while Persephone blushed.
"You really do! Oh, please tell me you're choosing this one!" Persephone beamed.
"Okay! I'll get this one." Jasper smiled at her, a true, wide smile, and she blushed again.
"I'll be right back." He called, and wandered to the other end of the store. He walked to the front desk and quickly payed for the two dresses before making his way back to the dressing room. The two girls had picked out corsages and a boutonnière for him, which matched both of their dresses. The corsages also seemed to match, and he smiled happily.
"Those are beautiful, ladies. You both should get your things together and I'll take these." Alice smiled and handed them over easily, both vampires ignoring Persephone's questioning look.
"I can pay-" Jasper had already walked off, refusing to listen to the human's cries of protest. Alice simply placed a hand on Persephone's lower back and guided her back to the dressing area, where they did as told before meeting Jasper back at the door. Alice kissed him on the cheek as a thank you and he opened the door for both women.
"Let's go eat." Alice said, grabbing Jasper's only free hand with her left and Persephone's with her right. "I'm starving!"
