For those who have turned their hearts into cold stones.

The deeper the forest, the denser it became. The trees were so close together that they almost came together, and as we climbed the mountain, more and more trees appeared that we had to be careful not to trip over. The darkness had already begun to fall and my eyesight was getting worse and worse in the dark, since I had no glasses.

I was almost done with my period since it was my fourth day, so I was not so much in pain, so I didn't eat much of the herbs Mingjue gave me. And it would be the perfect opportunity for me to escape now. Everyone thought I was in pain. But the pain I had, it was only the first days.

I wondered since when I had to shave. I felt like a gorilla.

Crack.

Nie Mingjue stopped abruptly in front of me and I almost hit his rock-like back. I would definitely be taken to the hospital after such a collision with that back.

 "What happened?" I asked.

 "Shh!" did Jiang Cheng.

I shut my mouth. The sound of the rustling of leaves was getting louder and louder in my ears.

Something was moving in the foliage. And it was moving fast.

A shadow went with great speed from one tree to another. I raised my head and looked at the trees. Nothing was visible.

Curse my myopia and the darkness!

"Someone take out a fire talisman," said Nie Mingjue.

"Do you think I'm not trying? I've been trying for a long time, but it doesn't work," Jiang Cheng grumbled. In his hand he was holding a piece of paper with some letters on it.

Lan Xichen pulled a similar piece of paper from the inside of his robe sleeve and closed his eyes. After a while he opened them.

 "Not working."

"Did we enter a field?" made Jin Guangyao and pulled a sword out of its sheath.

 A fucking bloody sword.

My heart started beating like crazy. Cold sweat was bathing me and I could feel my pulse coming out of my throat.

I was scared. I was scared.

I had to say I was scared. So that I can face the fear. I had to admit it.

What was I afraid of? The swords? Sharp objects? The fact that I was unarmed? That I could die in a blink of an eye? What would my own people back in my world do if I died? How much would I upset them?

A figure attacked at the speed of light and threw Wen Ning down, before moving away again.

"Ghost general! Are you alright?" said Lan Xichen. He, like everyone else, had drawn his sword.

Wen Ning nodded and stood up. Then he shook his head and looked around the trees.

More figures made their appearance. The figures moved with tremendous speed and jumped from tree to tree around us.

 We were trapped.

What in the world were those? Ninja? Monsters? Were there monsters?

A face suddenly appeared in front of mine. It's eyes were yellow and there were no pupils. His skin was gray-blue with black veins extending all over his face and horns coming out of his head that formed the inverted Π.

 I screamed.

Nie Mingjue, who was in front of me, turned and punched the creature. The punch threw it a few meters away.
