For the things we take for Granted and Underestimate them.

The route to Suanhi Village was long and tedious. For many hours we were walking in the forest. We would not see monsters now, some disciples had said. They had been right so far.

As a natural non communicator, I walked far from everyone. The disciples from all the clans that gathered were giving me sideways glances here and there. I thought the mission would be secret. But the clan leaders had trusted some people of theirs to come on the trip.

Some people told me a word and we talked the basics. With some others, we didn't even come five meters away. In the crowd, I always caught Wen Ning around my eye. He usually walked close to Jiang Cheng, but always at some distance. When I looked at him, a smile came to me.

Finally we decided to rest in an inn, where Wei Wuxian and Lan Wanji were waiting for us.

"Well, well. I had a long time to see my brother's bride," said Wei Wuxian, opening his arms to hug me. With one move, I avoided it to the left and Lan Wanji pulled him back.

"Wow. How cold. Just like Jiang Cheng. That's why you match."

I opened my mouth to curse, when Wen Ning interrupted me.

"Charlie has nothing to do with Sect leader Jiang. I urge Young Master Wei to refrain from such comments."

For a moment Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes and opened his mouth. It was the first time I saw him close it and have nothing to say. He always had the shit ready to come out of his mouth. He always had the answer to everything.

"Wen Ning..." he did. "I did not know that..."

 "Young master Wei. Wanji."

Lan Xichen appeared side by side with the other sect leaders. Jiang Cheng was walking a little behind them and seemed uncomfortable. Probably because the other three were 'brothers'. I did give him some justice for that. It would be weird to be the one not in their trio.

I shook my head. What was I saying? I had to put Lan Xichen aside. He was for my friend.

"Lan Xichen" I did and I went and grabbed his arm. Everyone looked at me strangely, but I didn't care. I had to protect my friend's future groom. I pulled him towards Wen Ning and then left him. "Shall we sit here all night?" I asked and looked at the others. Jiang Cheng had an expression of disgust painted on his face, Nie Mingjue looked like he was about to slap me hard and Jin Guangyao had a... menacing aura.

"Yes," replied Lan Xichen. "We booked a separate room for you Maiden Charlie. So that you do not feel uncomfortable."

"She is comfortable with Wen Ning. Let her sleep with him. Why do I have to sleep in the same room as this?" Jiang Cheng turned his head elsewhere like a diva and crossed his arms over his chest as if he were the Queen of England who was angry because they did not bring her corgis for company today.

Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao glared at Jiang Cheng, as if they wanted to kill him.

"Unfortunately the rooms have been arranged, Sect leader Jiang. I'm very sorry," said Lan Xichen.

"Anyway. I'll go to my room. Tomorrow morning at the entrance, right?" I did.

 Lan Xichen nodded.

I left them behind me and moved to the room indicated by a discipline when I asked him. When I entered, I closed the door behind me and felt my cell phone vibrate. I took it out of my pocket and pressed it to open. My reflection on the black screen looked at me.
